Chapter Fifteen

Kyung Mi's POV

Going to school was dreadful. Everyone kept giving me dirty looks and whispering to which I could hear. Suddenly I was pushed against the wall wincing as my head hit it. "Yah what was that for?" I asked looking at the culprit only to realize it was one of the means girls. Her name is Baek Min Hee, aka my old bully.

"It's your fault that Kai got hurt. Why would he save someone as pathetic as you? It's people like you who get people hurt. Such as your mom for example". She said grabbing me by the jacket of my school uniform. "You know nothing of my mother". I angrily fired back, my fists down at my sides. "Why would Kai waste his time spending time with you? What's so special about you huh?" I swatted her hand away when she touched my hair. "Don't touch me". I glared at her which didn't phase her in the slightest. A smirk came to her ruby lips as she rose her hand up. I felt a sudden stinging sensation in my cheek as the realization hit me. I had just been slapped. I held my cheek looking at her in shock and anger.

"Back talking now are we. If you know what's good for you then stay-"Let Kyung Mi go. And don't you ever touch her again". I turned towards the voice seeing Chen and Lay standing a few feet away. Min Hee turns their way, her eyes huge filled with fear. "I-I was just teaching Kyung Mi here a lesson. We're cool right Kyung Mi?" She asked looking at me with pleading eyes.

I remained silent looking at the ground tears burning my eyes. "Is that true Kyung Mi?" Chen asked making me look up at him. I looked towards Min Hee regretting it instantly. Slowly I shook my head. "Lay, take Kyung Mi to the infirmary. I'm gonna talk with Min Hee".

I watched as Lay took a hold of my wrist dragging me towards the infirmary. Suddenly he stopped making me walk into his back. "Min Hee really did a number on your cheek. Are you okay though?" Lay asked looking over my face. I nodded. "Yeah, I'm alright. Thanks for asking". I said with a small smile. Lay put his arm around me guiding me towards the infirmary. "You're welcome. Chen and I heard a commotion and decided to check it out but then to see you get hit. What were you fighting about?" Lay asked breaking the silence. I bit my lip looking down.

"She blamed me for Kai getting injured. Saying that it's people like me who get people hurt. And that I should just leave him alone". I said looking at the ground. I left out the part where she mentioned my mother.

Lay had always been known to be the caring one in the group. Always taking care of others before himself. "Hey, don't listen to her. She only said those things because she is jealous. It is not your fault that Kai got injured. He sacrificed himself so that you wouldn't get hurt. Kai put himself first so that you could live and him to get hit. Min Hee doesn't know the full truth". Lay said raising my chin forcing me to look up at him. I still felt guilty for Kai getting hurt because of me.

"Still I feel guilty for him getting hurt. That probably won't change". No matter what I was going to feel guilty even if someone tried convincing me otherwise.
