Chapter Twenty Five

Chen's POV

Suho, Xiumin and I searched for Kai not finding any sight of him. He still wasn't answering any of our calls which was rather worrisome. What if Mr. So took him again? "Where can he be? Kai's still not answering. Anything from you guys yet?" I asked looking at them. Sadly they shook their heads. "No nothing yet. Where could he possibly be?" Xiumin asked looking around but nothing. "I have an uneasy feeling. Something isn't right. Why would Kai want to go alone at night without protection? Kai knows it's too dangerous. You don't think he was going to secretly meet Kyung Mi do you?" Suho asked. At the mention of her name my heart rate picked up ruining my mood. "I wouldn't think so. Maybe Kai just needed to clear his mind in order to calm down. We all know that Kai has an explosive temper. Come on let's keep looking". I said as I picked up my pace.

Out of the blue I heard a faint cry in the distance. "Did you guys hear that?" I strained my ears to hear that sound again. "Hear what?" Both Xiumin and Suho asked at the same time. "I heard a faint cry somewhere".

"Kai!"

"Kai!" The scream was clearer this time, the voice all too familiar that my heart stopped. "Come on!" I shouted running towards the cries. As we rounded the corner there under the streetlight was two figures. Kyung Mi was crying over the figure my heart stopping. "Kai!" I shouted running towards his still figure.

"Kyung Mi what happened?" I asked observing Kai's injuries. Kyung Mi looked at me tears in her eyes. "I wanted to k-know why my dad left in a bad mood so I decided to follow him, but eventually lost him. When I was about to give up I saw Kai fighting someone. I yelled his name causing him to turn around. His opponent took that opportunity to. . . s-stab Kai. It's my fault he's injured". She gasped.

"What was he wearing Kyung Mi the attacker?" Suho asked his tone more serious. "H-He was wearing all black, he's tall and slender. But I never got a look at his face". "Xiumin take Kyung Mi for a bit. I'll take over from here, Chen call Chanyeol". Suho said as he helped guide Kyung Mi towards Xiumin.

Kyung Mi was hesitant to leave Kai's side, as I nodded at her. "Come on Kyung Mi". Xiumin said as he guided her away. In the distance sirens could be heard. "Suho, take god care of Kai, I'll be a minute". I looked down at Kai's still form feeling my insides turn cold. Just by looking at him I knew it wasn't good.

I dialed Chanyeol's number my heart never beating this fast.

"Chen do you have anything yet? We can't find him". Chanyeol spoke out of breath. Tears brimmed my eyes as I looked down at my best friend. "We just found him, but it's not good. From the distance I heard a cry running towards the noise and I found Kyung Mi crying over Kai's body. Kyung Mi says a guy stabbed, but didn't get a good look at him. It had to of been Mr. So. I'll send you our location. Hurry and get here. Your brother needs you". I hung up rushing over to Kai.

"He's losing too much blood. Kai's alive but barely clinging on". Suho said as he looked up at me.

Chanyeol's POV

Those words kept repeating in my mind as I looked at my brothers sleeping figure.

"It appears that Kai has slipped into a coma due to blood loss that his brain wasn't getting enough oxygen or nutrients it needed. By the time the operation was over we took him into recovery which he should have been showing signs of waking up. But he hasn't yet. We're not sure when he'll wake up, or if he will. It's hard to tell right now. We'll keep a close eye on his condition. The first forty eight hours are always critical in patients after surgery such as Kai's case. Seeing as you're his only family you can go in and see him. While he may be in a sleep like state most comatose people can hear what people say".

"I'm so sorry Kai that I let you down. It's my fault that you're in this state. As your brother I should have done a better job of protecting you, but I failed you. You're the only brother I have I. . . can't lose you now. It should be me lying here not you. I promise that Mr. So will get what's coming to him. You need to be set free of him for once and for all. Please find your way back to us". Tears burned my eyes as those words left my mouth.

Kai has to be okay. He has to be. How else will Mr. So be defeated once and for all.
