Chapter Seventeen

Kai's POV

The photo displaying on the screen was Chanyeol tied up to a chair looking at the camera. I grabbed the blanket by the fistful attempting to get up. But I was quickly pushed down by D.O. "What do you think you're doing?" Suho asked breaking my clouded thoughts of rage. "I have to find Chanyeol. They have him. They won't release him until they have me. Please I have to get my brother back". I pleaded. They would kill him if I didn't get to him in time.

"Kai, you can't go and find Chanyeol not in your condition. Let alone leave the hospital, you're confined in here until the doctor releases you. We'll go and decode the address while we call the others to guard you. Who knows they could be hiding here". D.O explained as he still held onto my arms. I tried getting up but D.O only held onto me tighter. "Kai, it's not worth risking your health. We'll find him for you. Your body can't withstand any punches". D.O said as he loosened his grip.

"He's my brother D.O I can't let that man harm him. He's all I have left. Please let me find him. It's me they want. If you were in my shoes what would you do? The least you can do is help me escape then I'll return here. I can't lose anyone else". I pleaded tears burning my eyes, but I didn't dare let them fall.

D.O looked back at Suho who was on the phone then to me. "I'm sorry Kai, but I can't let you leave this room. Like I said we'll go search for him. I reassure you that we'll get him back". D.O said as Suho hung up. "Baekhyun and Lay will guard you Kai while we search for Chanyeol. They'll be here in five minutes". Suho said as he picked up his bag.

"Guys, I need to do this. If any of you go they will kill him. It has to be me who saves him. I'm the one they want, not Chanyeol. They only want to get someone close to me so they can lure me in. If Chanyeol gets hurt I won't forgive myself. I can't handle another death. Just cover me until I get back. Did either of you bring a celebrity mask?" I asked looking between them.

"We did but on one condition. The others will go with you. We'll make sure that your room is secure from them, but this plan may not work. If you get hurt it's on me". Suho warned handing the mask over. I smiled up at him before heading towards the bathroom my ribs aching a little.

I changed out of my gown and into all black clothing including the celebrity mask. It was do or die and I'd rather save Chanyeol and dry trying. I couldn't let them win. Not when they tore my life apart severed my family ties. It was my brother or my life. I choose my life.

"Sehun will stay in the van, no use in him catching any action. Xiumin  and Chen will be on your side at all times, while the others stand guard. Baekhyun and Lay will stay here and guard your room. Now go before someone senses something. Be safe and remember to return". Suho said giving me a reassuring smile. I nodded as Xiumin and Chen guided me outside my room.

"Guys I know where they have Chanyeol. It's this address just nine miles away from here. Sehun you stay in the car and keep watch. Chen and Xiumin you flank each side of me. If they capture me do as they say. I don't want you killed over me. Keep your guard up at all times. We done this before". I stated as we pulled into this vacant building.

As we stepped out the air was eerie too quiet for it to be night. Nothing was string not even the wind. I nodded signaling towards the door. Quietly I opened the door noticing no body guards were near. The building was quiet which was rather odd. "You guys follow me. If we get caught you run. Leave me and take Chanyeol with you. That's a demand". I warned. They hesitantly nodded before following me deeper into the building.

We pulled out our weapons as our only protection from the ones who took my life away. "Guys I see Chanyeol. He's tied to a chair but no guards". Xiumin spoke quietly grabbing my attention. I turned towards the door seeing Chanyeol fighting against the restraints. "Something isn't right. He should be guarded, it could be a trap. Both of you stay here, I'll get Chanyeol. It's better if I go alone". I said opening the door before any of them could protest.

Chanyeol's head snapped up upon hearing the door open. Immediately he shook his head remaining quiet. As I finished untying the restrains I heard a voice from the corner of the room.

"I see that car didn't kill you. Did you really think that getting your brother would be easy?" He asked stepping out of the shadows. I shook my head no my hand holding tighter onto my gun. "Let him go and just take me. You've always wanted me, so here I am. Release him and take me as your prisoner". I demanded looking directly into his cold eyes. "Kai, no don't do this!" Chanyeol yelled. "I'll be fine. Go the others are outside". I whispered so he wouldn't hear.

Chanyeol hesitated looking at the door then to me shaking his head. "No, we're in this together. I'm not leaving you behind Kai. We're brothers".

"How cute of a brother bond you have. This is between you can me Kai send your brother off and no one gets hurt". He said as he walked closer to us. I held my gun tighter just in case. "What do you want?" I asked getting impatient. He chuckled shaking his head. "You're just like your father Kai, always so impatient. What I want is you, but now just doesn't seem right. I want you at your strongest, but you're weak. I won't get you today, but just you wait Kai, I'll get a hold on you".

"Kai, look out!" Chanyeol yelled. In the dim lighting I could see a reflection of a gun. On instinct I fired my gun before grabbing Chanyeol. "That brat of a kid just shot me. You won't get away so easily next time Kai!" He yelled.

"Come on let's get out of here". I said pulling Chanyeol away.
