Chapter Twenty One

Kyung Mi's POV

I was speechless at the words Kai spoke. I had never thought that Kai was capable of such nice words. Yet everyday he seems to be changing. "What about your rule of staying away from me?" I asked looking at him as his eyes softened. Kai sighed before looking at the floor.

"Every time I tried distancing myself from you I couldn't. I tried so many times, but in the end I came back to you. It feels like there's a magnetic pull drawing me closer to you. No matter what it's always you I come back to. It was impossible to stay away from you that I had to leave the room because the pull was too strong for me to handle, so I had to leave first to break the bond. But the farther away I am from you the more I want to see you. So from this moment onward I will protect you". Kai spoke looking me in the eyes.

Suddenly the door opened revealing Chanyeol coming into the room. "Oh, hi Kyung Mi didn't know you were here. I'll let you both talk. I'll just be waiting outside". Chanyeol spoke before walking out of the room. Instantly Kai let go of my hand rubbing his nape, a tint of pink dusting his cheeks. "Sorry about my brother". Kai sheepishly said. I smiled up at him.

"It's okay I have a brother too". I chuckled. Kai nodded. "Come on let's go". Kai said as he grabbed his things. As soon as we entered the hallway Chanyeol was talking on the phone. "No, we'll figure something out. Alright talk to you later". Chanyeol hung up the phone before turning our way.

"Any of you up for something to eat?". Chanyeol offered as we walked out of the hospital. Kai looked over at me raising a brow. I nodded. "Sure, I'll join". I said as I looked at the two earning a smile from Kai. I heard Chanyeol whisper something before he looked my way. "That's the first time I seen him smile in a while. Thank you Kyung Mi for being part of it". Chanyeol said as he turned around. Kai looked over at me putting a finger to his lip. I watched as Kai walked up to Chanyeol and playfully smacked him on the head. Causing me to let out a laugh.

"Yah what was that for?" Chanyeol asked rubbing his head. Kai shrugged getting into the SUV. "What are you hungry for? It's my treat". Chanyeol spoke starting the car. "PIZZA!" Both Kai and I said at the same time causing us to laugh. "Alright pizza it is. Are you sure you both aren't a couple yet?" Chanyeol asked causing me to blush. "Chanyeol". Kai whined. "Alright, alright I'll stop. I just had to mess with you". By Chanyeol's voice I could tell he was smiling.

While we were eating pizza I found out that the three of us had a lot in common. "So Kyung Mi what's something you want to do after high school?" Chanyeol asked interrupting my thoughts. I finished chewing my food before replying. "I'd like to be a photographer, travel the world to get well known. I've done a few wedding phots of family and nature". I replied as this had always been my dream.

"What made you get into photography?" Kai asked. I bit my lip wondering if I should tell them. It was always a hard topic. "My mom got me into photography since she loved it and since her passing I wanted to keep her tradition alive". I said with a sad smile. As I looked over at Kai he was completely stiff frozen in his seat. Why was he suddenly acting this way? I wondered. I looked over at Chanyeol and he wore the same expression except there was an emotion I couldn't place. "You guys okay?" I asked looking between the two. They still didn't move. What was happening?

"Kyung Mi what are you doing here?" I turned at the sound of the voice. "D-Dad what are you doing here? I thought you were in your office doing paperwork". I asked confused as to why my dad was at a pizza place. He eyed both Chanyeol and Kai a small smirk playing on his face. "I finished doing paperwork and thought I'd get something to eat. Never thought I would see you here. I'm Mr. So by the way". My dad said eyeing both of them.
