Chapter Twenty Two

Kyung Mi's POV

"Come on Kyung Mi let's go home". Dad said still eyeing both Kai and Chanyeol. I looked up at him confused. "But dad I'm with my friends". I stated. I didn't really want to leave I was just getting to know them better. Dad sighed impatiently crossing his arms. "I don't want you hanging out with these people. They aren't good people, now let's go Kyung Mi". Dad said his tone more stern than usual. I went to open my mouth but dad cut me off. "Now Kyung Mi. Go on out to the car, I'll be a minute". Dad said pulling out my chair. I looked over at them sensing fear rolling off them. "I'm sorry guys". I stated leaving them frozen.

Kai's POV

Mr. So leaned in towards the table his expression more menacing than normal. "If I ever see either of you around my daughter again I'll do more damage to you next time. That I'll guarantee. Hasn't your family already done enough damage to my family? If you so even touch my daughter it'll be the last you ever see daylight. From here onwards you're no longer friends with my daughter. Don't talk to her or even glance at her. I have people watching your every move. One wrong move and it's game over". Mr. So said before walking away.

Suddenly I felt a hand on my wrist unfolding my fists. "Come on he isn't worth it Kai. We need to get out of here now". Chanyeol spoke in a rush pulling me to my feet. "He spoke of my family Chanyeol. How am I not supposed to react? I'm a danger to Kyung Mi. I'll have to let her go. Even if hurting her is the only way, it'll kill me too". It was the only way. Every other option was going to be bad, so I had to pick this one which was no better. But why did my heart hurt and feel so heavy?

Chanyeol suddenly stopped making me bump into his back. "Why'd you stop?" I asked looking out from behind his figure. My eyes went wide at the sight. Suho and Chen were both getting beat up in the dark lit alley. Before I knew what I was doing I ran towards them.

"Hey, let go of my friends!" I shouted throwing myself towards one of the guards. "Kai!" I barely heard Chanyeol shouting over the yells of my friends.

I wrestled the guard down that was on top of Chen throwing him to the side realizing it was Mr. So's men. "Chen you alright?" I asked worriedly as he wasn't talking yet. He nodded holding his shoulder. "It's Mr. So's men. I was walking home when I heard them talking about some plan. I was caught when one recognized me. I called Suho for backup. Kai look out!" Chen yelled shoving me aside hitting the wall behind me.

Chen used his taser causing him to collapse. I got up helping Chanyeol get the guard off Suho since they both struggled against the stronger man. I pulled out my gun towards the man which made him freeze. As I got a better look at him I realized the kid was my age. We were all seniors together.

"Mr. So sent you didn't he?" I asked taking a step closer towards him. He looked at my friends before looking at me. "I-I was only doing what I was told to do. If I got it done I would be rewarded for money". He looked around before looking at the ground.

"Why did you do it? We known each other for years". Suho demanded. By the look on the boys face I could tell he was guilty. "My sister is ill stricken so I needed the extra money and Mr. So offered the deal to me. I was only supposed to beat one of Kai's close friends but two came at me. Please I have no choice. If I don't succeed I will get hurt or my family. I'll do anything you say after this. I'm so sorry".

I put my gun down shaking my head. He was our class president. "Mr. So is a ruthless monster as a person. Believe me I know from first hand. I been dealing with him most my life. But most of all why would you go after my friends? They oppose as no threat to you. So you would have to of stalked them. What makes you think I won't be able to trust you anywhere?" I asked leaning closer.

"I swear I won't harm any of you again. I only did it because my sister is really ill, it was to help pay medical bills. In school I won't harm you. I'll repay your friends for their medical treatment". He pleaded.

I looked at both Chen and Suho observing their injuries. "Since you said you'd do anything, you will pay for my friends compensation for their injuries when you get the money. From then on forward you will no longer go near us except school or to pay them. How you get the money is on you. But if you hurt my friends again you'll have to deal with me". I warned. He nodded fear written on his face. "Let's get out of here". I said as I helped Chen out.
