Chapter Twenty Four

Kai's POV

We both circled around each other waiting for one of us to make the first move. "Can we at least have a fair fight with fists only? I don't have any weapons which makes it uneven". I asked gesturing towards the knife. Mr. So looked down at the knife before looking up at me. "If you want a fair fight I'll give it to you. But by no means am I going to go easy on you". He seethed.

I knew that both of us were already injured and that one of us was going to fall. I prayed that it would be Mr. So who goes down first.

I watched as he threw the knife aside it clattering to the cement.

He took a swing at me luckily I dodged it punching him in the stomach. He stumbled trying to keep his footing. I swung my fist his way, but caught it kicking me in the ribs. I let out a scream of pain as the pain radiated throughout my middle.

Before I knew it he was on top of me before I could even get up. I protected my stomach as he repeatedly kicked me. My ears were ringing as I tried enduring every blow. I had no energy to fight. He was stronger and a much better fighter than me. It was then I knew I could die or I could keep fighting.

With the last ounce of strength I had left, I flipped him off me. I could hear curses as he struggled to get up. "You fight just like your father did. But unfortunately you're no match to me". I lunged at him both of us going down like dominos.
We rolled on the cement punching and kicking at each other.

"Kai!" I turned at the sound of the voice I had become to know so well. Right in front of my eyes stood Kyung
Mi. Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my stomach, as I looked down blood was soaking my shirt. There  in his good hand was a bloody knife. I looked up at Mr. So feeling betrayed. "You. . . C-Cheated not a. . . fair fight". I fought to breathe as I wheezed. My legs gave out from under me as I fell to the cement. "You deserved it". He said as he took off running.

"Kai". I heard Kyung Mi's voice beside me as she kneeled down. "K-Kyung Mi. . . What a-are you doing here? I-It's not safe". I wheezed. Black spots blacked my vision as I could barely see her outline. Kyung Mi lifted my head and set it on her lap. As she did so I hissed in pain as she applied pressure to the wound.

"Shh, don't talk you're going to be fine". Her tone came out shaky to that I realized she was crying. With the last strength I had left I wiped her tears a small smile on my lips.

"It's o-okay. . . There's no need t-to cry over m-me. I'm not t-that important. Finally this can. . . be o-over". I could feel myself slipping away as my world turned to black.

"Kai!"

"Kai!"

That concludes the end of chapter twenty four of Black Heart. I want to apologize that the fight scene lacked a lot. I'm running short on sleep so I apologize for any mistakes. I will go back and try to re-write parts of the fight sequence to make it flow better. What was your favorite part? What do you think will happen next? Tell me in the comments your thoughts.
