Chapter Eighteen

Kai's POV

I grabbed onto Chanyeol's hand opening the door just as the others helped us. "Did you really just shoot him?" Chanyeol asked as we ran away hearing footsteps behind us. I looked behind us only seeing him far behind. "I only shot his shooting hand". I said running faster. I knew that if I shot his hand he could no longer hurt us for now. At least it wasn't a deadly gun shot wound. Besides I needed him alive not dead.

"Come on let's get out of here". Chen said as he opened the door. All of us climbed into the vehicle as Sehun stepped onto the gas. "He won't be following us other than a trip to a hospital". I said as I looked behind us. "What did you do to him?" Sehun asked breaking the silence. "Let's just say that he won't be using his shooting hand for a while. How are you Chanyeol?" I asked looking at his head seeing a small bump on his head.

"I'm fine just a small bump is all. You didn't have to come and get me you know. They were going to release me. I heard the leader and the other guy talking. They want you at your peak so that when they come you're strong enough to put up a fight. They have something big planned Kai and I'm afraid that since we're short handed on guards that it'll be easy to get to you. We your friends and brother have signed up to protect you. Of course I been in it since you came to my house. But Chen and Xiumin and the rest of us decided to be guards to". Chanyeol said as the others nodded.

"All of us asked Mr. and Mrs. Park to be your personal guards, they agreed on the condition that we report what happens. We know this is against your wishes, but they needed help so we recruited ourselves. As for Kyung Mi we'll protect her too". Chen spoke.

I knew it was at their best interest at heart, but it hurt to know they went behind my back. "I don't want any of you guys getting hurt because of me. I've told you before that I don't want you protecting me. Enough people have gotten hurt because of me and I can't put you through it. I can't lose you guys. You're all I got left. Please withdraw those applications". I begged tears burning my eyes.

"Sorry Kai but it's too late. We signed those papers a while back. I'm sorry we didn't tell you until now. It's just you been so down lately that we decided to wait". Xiumin explained as he looked down at the floor. I closed my eyes trying to calm down.

"You decided to tell me now while Chanyeol just got kidnapped. When exactly did you plan on telling me? Or were you ever going to?" I looked at their faces finding my answer. "Kai, calm down we were only doing what we thought was best for you. We were planning on telling you when things calmed down but clearly they haven't. Believe us we were going to tell you". Sehun said glancing my way.

"You're all I have left. You took my dark life and turned it into color, but if something happens to either of you it's on me. Remember that when you guard me. My world is dangerous and there is only one way out of it. And it better not happen to any of you guys". I said as I looked out the window.
