Chapter Thirty Four

Chanyeol's POV

I awoke the next morning feeling relieved that Kai had slept for the rest of the night without nightmares. I looked over at the time noticing it was only eight in the morning. As I looked over at Kai he was still asleep. Noticing a notebook was lying right beside him I decided to pick it up. Upon noticing the words I sneaked a glance at his writing before putting it on the bedside table my worry worsening at what it said.

I had always known that Kai had liked writing but seeing what he wrote only worried me that he would do something awful. I put the worries away and put it in the back of my mind.

Deciding that I would surprise Kai with a nice breakfast figured it would get his mind off things.

Kai's POV

While in the shower I could smell something delicious wafering into my nose. A smile came to my lips as I realized what it was and who was making it. Just like old times Chanyeol was making breakfast after my hard night. Chanyeol had always done that to make me feel better. Since Mr. and Mrs. Park weren't around Chanyeol would always make something with my help. But since I was always plagued with nightmares, Chanyeol would always make me breakfast the next day.

I slipped my clothes on making my way down stairs of the quiet house. There at the stove was Chanyeol making kimchi. "I thought I smelled something delicious". I said as I peeked over Chanyeol's figure. "I thought you would like it. I'm making it with rice and ham". That was always the tradition that Chanyeol made with kimchi was to make it with rice and ham.

While Chanyeol was cooking I had decided to set the table despite the discomfort I felt in my stomach. "Remember the doctor told you to not over do it or to lift heavy items. Go sit I'll get it from here". Chanyeol scolded. I went to open my mouth but Chanyeol interrupted me. "If you get hurt I have to hear it from mom and dad. Go sit the food will be ready in a minute". I nodded sitting at the table.

The first bite was always the best. Chanyeol smirked as he took a bite. "Every time I swear it gets better Chanyeol". I complimented as it was an excellent breakfast. "Thanks I'm happy that you like it".

My thoughts were interrupted when my phone rang interrupting our conversation. "I'll be right back". I took my phone out of my pocket noticing the caller ID was Kyung Mi.

"Hey, Kyung Mi what's up?" I asked walking into the next room.

"I'm just calling while I'm on break. I was wondering after school if you'd want to meet at the cafe just down the road from our school. Are you up for it?" She asked. I looked behind me not seeing Chanyeol. "Yeah, sure I'll meet you there. What time do you want to meet up?"

"How about four". "Sure I'll meet you there. See you there Kyung Mi". "See you soon Kai. Sorry I have to go the bell just rang. See you after school". Before I could respond Kyung Mi hung up.

I walked back into the kitchen to which Chanyeol was looking at me weirdly. "Let me guess you're meeting up with Kyung Mi?" He asked leaning in his chair. I nodded nervous of his waiting answer. "She wants to meet at the cafe just down from out school at four. Since Mr. So might be watching I need to be in disguise. I can't even recognized. I just want one normal date". Chanyeol sighed setting his drink aside. "I'll help you disguise yourself, but someone will have to be with you. I won't interrupt your date as I'll be across the room. But if anything goes wrong I will have to intervene. I'm sorry that you don't get the privacy that you want". Chanyeol apologized.

"I'm kind of used to that by now. But on one condition. You have to wear a celebrity mask as well. Mr. So can't see you either". I reasoned. Chanyeol nodded before picking up our plates. "Alright I'll wear one to".
