Chapter 18: REAL FEELINGS
My lips automatically smiled when David's sleeping form greeted me the moment I opened my eyes. His breathing was calm and his lips were slightly pouted. Sobrang lapit namin sa isa't isa dahil sa higpit ng yakap niya sa akin at tila ayaw akong pakawalan. Ang yakap niya ang uri ng higpit na hindi nakakasakit ngunit nakakalambot ng puso. Ang sarap lang gumising araw-araw kung ganito ang unang mabubungran mo.
I suddenly remembered Mia's question yesterday. Am I happy? I feel contented, I'm at ease. Does that mean I'm already happy? I chose to give myself to David last night again and trust him over the possibilities and consequences that may happen, that does mean he's making me happy?
I continued on staring at David's face, memorizing every detail of his feature. Hoping that it could answer my question. Until my eyes settled on his lips, it was a little swollen from last knight. It was so sweet and soft that I can't stop from kissing it after we took a rest. I was surprised by the abrupt feeling of my heart pounding out of my chest.
I may be know the answers to my own questions, but I refused to answer it. I want to keep this feeling, and I don't like to complicate things. Because sometimes, it is best for everyone to leave things unclear. Kailangan ko lang ng kahit kaunting oras upang mapigilan itong sumabog. I will not let myself to be the first one to surrender the flag.
"You, staring at me this early like that..."
Bahagyang nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang biglang magsalita si David. Napalunok ako nang marahang magmulat ang kanyang mga mata at salubungin ang akin. I felt my whole face turned red as he caught me gawking at him.
