"God, I just don't have any idea what to do."

I vented out of frustration. Wala pa rin akong idea kung anong ibibigay ko sa asawa ko. I just can't pinpoint the perfect and suitable gift to give him. Necktie? Relo? Nakakaloka. My braincells are wearing out already.

I leaned my head on the table. Hay nako, itutulog na lang ako. Someone knocked on the door two times before it opened. I was a bit startled, but chose not to lift up my head and check out who was going into my office.

"I heard you need help?"

Heavens!

As soon as I heard his voice, napaangat agad ako ng tingin. "Finally! You were busy about your upcoming doctorals kaya hindi na kita inabala pa." Yes, he's adding another surname on his plate. Dagdag specialty and...sweldo na rin.

"Next month pa naman yung board e." He smiled at me. "So, what can I help you?"

While piling up my files, I answered his question. "Ogie's birthday is coming up in two days. Wala akong maisip na birthday gift, nasa kanya na ata lahat e. Lahat pwede na niyang mabili e." I scoffed.

"That's it?" he cackled. "Easy-peasy."

"Syempre madali lang para sa'yo kasi lalaki ka." I rolled my eyes. "Tsaka mahilig ka rin siguro magbigay ng regalo kaya ayun."

"Tara? Mall tayo?" pag-aaya niya sa'kin. "I'll take you to a nice, comfy gift searching."

"Really?" My eyes twinkled automatically, all by itself. Robin replied a nod and I giggled. "Yes! Thank you!"

Agad akong naghanda at nagretouch. I also did my hair in a clean and neat bun, of course hindi yung parang labandera. Maybe I should take an early off and go home straight after I shop for Ogie's gift. Medyo napapagod at na-sstress na rin ako rito. Hehe.

After I did some finishing touches, inalalayan ako ni Robin sa paglalakad dahil mukhang nahihilo ata ako e. We walked into the elevator na saktong nagbukas nang nadatnan namin ito. Pumasok kami at medyo marami-rami ang tao sa loob. It went down and in a bit, we arrived at the basement.

Robin let go of my hand and searched for his car along the parking area. Naiwan naman akong nakatayo doon malapit sa may pintuan habang inaantay siya. A car lit up, drived a bit and stopped infront of me. It rolled down it's windows and the moment I saw Robin inside, agad akong pumunta sa passenger's seat at umupo sa tabi niya.

"You got a new car?" I asked him.

"Mmm-hmm. It's a high-end model of Accent this time." pagmamalaki pa niya. "Damn, this was so expensive when I ordered it right straight from Seoul." Oh, of course. Hyundai cars are made from Korea.

"Ba't naman kasi yan ang binili mo, ha?" singhal ko sa kanya.

"I want it. And I have definitely no regrets." he cackily said. "Kotse nalang kaya iregalo mo sa asawa mo?"

Nanlaki naman ang mga mata ko sa sinabi niya. "Are you crazy? Or just a little disorted or what? Ang mahal mahal kaya ng kotse. Gusto ko yung memorable at simple lang."

He just let out a light chuckle. "Sya nga pala, it's almost lunch. Don't you wanna eat first?"

I shook my head. "Nah, after we finished buying what we need, saka na siguro tayo kakain." I sturdily said.

"Okay." tipid nitong sagot.

After minutes of driving, finally we arrived at an SM store. Pumasok si Robin sa entrance ng parking and he actually paid something before he went in. The lady gave him the receipt and we searched for an accessible parking space to stop on. We did find one and got down on that Accent of his. Same thing, inalalayan niya pa rin ako pagbaba.

I clung my arms around him, making myself sure I wasn't losing any balance and kept myself in position. Muntik na nga akong madulas e buti nalang nakalingkis ako kay Robin. We went up the stairs smoothly and started walking around. Nako baby, medyo nagiging mabigat ka na ah.

"My idea actually is...a watch. Not just a simple watch that you would put on a stylish container but with a personalized watch box. Yung may nakaukit na pangalan niya tsaka initials mo sa baba, parang sayo talaga galing yung relo." he said. "Isa pa, so that he just can't throw away the box as easy as that. Hanggang sa kabagay-bagayan ng relong yun, hindi yun worthy to be put on the trash."

Hindi ko alam kung ano ako kung wala si Robin.

"Then, watch it is." I beamed. "Pero san ba nakakakita ng mga ga nun? Never pa akong nakakarinig ni nakakakita ng mga ganung bagay." I scoffed.

"That's why we went here because I know a store that could possibly make us a special treat." he then winked and grabbed my hand. Nagsimula na kaming maglakad ulit.

If you guys really don't know the both of us, if you guys just saw us as passersby here in this mall, masasabi niyo talaga na parang magjowa o mag-asawa talaga kami sa lagay namin ngayon. Have heard some people chit-chatting about how handsome and how pretty we were, and also talking about how perfect we are as a couple. Napanganga nalang ako sa mga narinig and makes me wanna say, si Herminio Jose Alcasid lang po ang kaisa-isa kong mamahalin habang buhay.

With that thought, napahawak nalang ako sa bigay niyang pendant sa'kin nung isang araw. I really wear this everytime and everywhere I go. Hindi ko talaga siya nakakalimutang isuot before I go to work. It's pretty ironic.

"Hello, Sir, Maam, may we help you?" hindi ko namalayang nasa loob na pala kami ng isang watch shop. I was about to speak when Robin instead talked.

"Latest watches you have?" he asked the attendants. May hinugot siyang parang card mula sa bulsa niya at binigay ito sa lalake. Napatunganga naman ito at agad na kumilos para tugunan ang sinabi ni Robin. I was surprised but well, he's powerful too.

"Here, Sir."

There, the most elegant, shining, eccentric, sophisticated watches are on my sight and beyond my touch. I scanned them one by one. Napatingin tuloy ako kay Robin nang naguguluhan. He just gave me a small smile before I roamed my eyes again on these watches. Finally, after minutes of searching, I found the perfect match for my husband.

"Eto." I spoke. It was a not-so-bulky silver-gold watch that perfectly fits my husband's wrist. Well, I almost memorized every inch of him so I guess...I'll trust my 'wife' instincts this time.

"Sure na?" Robin asked me.

"No matter how much the price is, yes I'm sure." I chuckled.

Napatingin naman sa'min ang attendant at binaling nito ang atensyon kay Robin. "Include a watch box for this one. Yung personalized. The same thing I arranged for Fernandez."

F-fernandez...

"Binilhan mo si Pops ng ganito ka-garang relo?" My mouth was openly hanging. "You're absolutely mad."

He took a deep breath and confessed. "Yes, Regine. I'm madly in love with her."
