"Ate!!!" Trina giggled. "It was nice to see you again! It has been what...months? Years? I lost count. But that doesn't matter now, namiss kaya kita." she cuddled me, which I think is so informal dahil andito ang angkan nila.

"I miss you too. And yet, this time, ikakasal ka na." I subtly said. Ayoko namang mapahiya. "You should have your adjustments already."

"Yeah. I guess Ate." mahina nitong sabi. She held my hand and yes, her hands were so warm while mine is in freezing cold. She held her head up high and looked at me intently. "Ayos ka lang? Namumutla ka ate a. Ako kinakabahan sa'yo."

I half-whispered, trying not to be heard by the whole family. "I'm nervous. Super. Nervous."

She just chuckled. "You are hilarious. You know what, they are actually the ones who are nervous because of your presence. Nagkausap-usap kami dito kanina and they were dying to meet you and also very timid in their actions towards this dinner of ours dahil alam nilang isa kang malaking tao compare to them. I mean well, nasa medical field ka kaya karespe-respeto. Kaya act normal lang. Wala ka namang dapat ikabahala. Kuya's with you and I'm here." she assured me.

Oh god. Is she telling the truth or was that a joke all along? The Alcasids are being so picky with their actions just because I'm here? Come on. Trina must be kidding.

"I'm sorry we're late. Pagkatapos kasi naming mag-CR e may kaunting pinagusapan lang kami. Just catching up with each other after years of not keeping in touch." Ariel spilled when the both of them got back. Kanina kasi, right after Ogie's excuse, nagpaalam rin yan sa'min na mag-CCR rin.

My husband quietly sat down beside me without even touching or looking me in the eye. Na para bang iniiwasan niya na magkatagpo ang mga mata namin. I touched his hands and I felt his startle. "Are you okay? Namumutla ka. Pareho na tayo." Nagawa ko pang magjoke.

"Y-yes. I'm fine. Just continue eating, don't mind me." halatang-halata sa hitsura niya na may bumabagabag talaga sa kanya. I just can't pinpoint what is it. He was munching down his food timidly like a bird. His face...para siyang nakakita ng multo. It was unusual.

"We're sorry hija." the middle aged woman said. "Ganyan lang talaga yang pamangkin ko." he excused him.

"Sanay na po ako, hindi ko nalang masyadong iniintindi. When he said he's fine, he's fine then. No need to apologize, Tita...?" I don't know her name! Fudge!

"Agnes. I'm Ariel's mother." she stated. "Look at you hija, you are so beautiful. Lahat kami ay nasisiyahang makita ka ngayon dito sa hapag namin at kumakain kasama namin. You are simply a goddess. And we sense that you are something special that's why Ogie married you." she complimented me.

"Nako Tita...no need to flatter me naman po hehe." tangi kong naisagot. 

"I totally agree with my balae." It was...Tita Loida speaking, Trina's mother. "You are such a sweetheart, you are somewhat strong, I don't know. Siguro kasi nasisilayan lang kami sa propesyon mo at sa kagandahan mo. Basta, sobrang iba ka sa lahat ng mga nakilala kong babae. I know my nephew is in good hands now." she giggled. 

"Thank you." I said after slightly chewing my food. 

Medyo napatalon ako nang may humawak sa kamay ko. It was a soft and gentle touch. "Regine, nabalitaan namin ang nangyari sa baby niyo just two months ago...I was delighted by the news that you have already recovered anak. I know how it feels to lose a child because I also had a miscarriage before Ogie came into our lives." It was his mom. Napangiti naman ako sa kalingang ibinigay niya sa'kin.
