"Supreme Leader, an escape pod was jettisoned from docking bay two..." Hux said as he met Kylo at the door to the bridge. Kylo nodded, "I'm aware of that General" he said through his mask. Hux's eyes widened, "How....?". Kylo turned slowly to look at Hux, taking pleasure in the way that he shrunk back from his masked gaze. "I know because I jettisoned it". Hux stood quite still staring at Kylo, his brow furrowed "For what purpose?" He asked. Kylo stepped closer to him and leant in, "You know for what purpose" he said slowly. Hux shifted, clearly unsure of himself as he answered, "The scavenger? But Supreme Leader, I..., she shot you!".  Kylo brought his fist down hard on the control panel next to him, sparks flying.  Hux jumped and took a step back from the masked figure in front of him.  "What makes you so sure that it was her who shot me General?".  Hux's eyes became wide then, understanding for the first time what Kylo was implying.  Kylo went on, "Did you see her do it?  I have reason to believe that you were in the area?".  Hux shook his head and took another backwards step, his hands raised, "Supreme Leader, if you're implying that I had something to do with it well I...".

A beep on the console next to Kylo made both men stop.  A crackle and then a voice.  "We have a transmission coming through, we believe it's resistance members".  Hux flew for the comm link, lifting the receiver to his mouth with a shaky hand.  "Patch them through". More static and then a voice that both men recognised as the resistance pilot. "This is Commander Poe Dameron of the resistance. You have one of ours, a girl, Rey. We want her back. If you resist we will attack". Kylos eyes moved to look at Hux through the visor of his mask. Kylo reached up, unclipping the sides of his helmet and lifting it off with a hiss. He placed his helmet down and then held out his hand. Hux hesitated, biting the inside of his mouth and then he handed the receiver to Kylo.

"This is Kylo Ren. The girl you seek has escaped. She is on a pod headed for Bogano". Static and then the pilots voice, raised now, "Bulkshit! If she were on a pod you'd be after her right now, I know how important she is in all of this!" Kylo sighed. The pilot was right. He should be after her, Hux knew it too. But he wasn't. For some reason that he just couldn't settle on, he wanted her to be safe. "Check your radars. She's currently over Bracca. Check them if you want proof". For a moment the line went quiet and then finally the static returned, "Ok I see a craft. It looks like a pod but you still haven't answered my question. Why are you letting her go?". Kylo inhaled slowly feeling Hux's eyes on him, "Because I put her in that pod, I let her go."

Rey looked out of the pods window. The screen showed that she was headed for a planet called Bogano. She knew nothing of it but she assumed it was safe if Ben was sending her there. Ben. She closed her eyes at the thought of him. Her mind wandered to the feel of him when she had kissed his cheek, the slight graze of stubble on his chin, the warm, clean smell. A warm, tingly feeling flowed through her body and she let out her breath in a shaky huff her eyes opening again. He let her go. Just like that. Was it possible that he felt the same about her as she did about him?

A rumble as the pod entered Boganos atmosphere and Rey fastened her seatbelt and peered out of the window, taking in the green grass and white cliffs. The pod touched down and the door opened with a hiss. Rey peered out, warm sun on her face, a relief after her time spent in space. She climbed out and looked around. Green fields stretched for miles, the long grass swaying in the breeze but as far as she could tell there were no signs of life. What now? She thought. If her friends thought that she was dead then they would never find her here! Rey sat down on the step of the pod, her fingers twirling around in the grass. Was this how Luke had felt when he had first arrived on Ach-to? The sound of an approaching ship and Rey stood up, fear filling her heart. Had Ben changed his mind? Was this whole thing some sort of trap?

Rey's hand rested on her saber, ready to ignite it. Her eyes scanned the clouds anxiously, her shoulders tense. As the ship finally came into view her shoulders visibly relaxed and a smile spread across her face. It was the Falcon.

After the transmission had ended Kylo had put his mask back on and walked off the bridge. His mind was spinning. Why had he done that? What was this spell Rey had put on him? He knew that he would have to deal with Hux soon, but not now. He felt too drained. Hux had stared at him open mouthed as he had spoken to the resistance pilot, his rage clear in his eyes and yet he had dared not voice his concerns.  Hux knew what Kylo had done and Kylo knew what Hux had tried to do.  They were both traitors.
