I Know Who I Am Now

Arrival at the base.

"She's coming here?  At your request?" Hux spat angrily.  Kylo turned to face him then, studying him through his mask, "Is there a problem with that General?".  Hux straightened and dropped his eyes, "I was under the impression that she was an enemy of the first order".  Kylo stood then, walking around the long table full of first order officers and commanders, coming to a stop behind Hux's seat.  "I was under the impression that you were an allied  of mine, strange now that you are an enemy of the first order and the girl is an allied".  All eyes turned to look at Hux.  Hux turned in his seat, "Supreme Leader, I don't know what the girl told you but..".  Hux's head snapped down onto the table, eliciting a cry from him.  Around the table several people lowered their eyes, jumping in their seats at the sudden attack.  Kylo held Hux's head to the table with the force and leant in close to his ear, his mechanical voice echoing around the room "I know you tried to murder me General".  Hux tried to speak but his face was becoming red as Kylo applied more presssure.  Hux's eyes were wide now, vessels popping in them, becoming bloodshot.  "You are expendable for what I have planned.  You were always expendable in my eyes" Kylo said as he felt Hux's hand raise and weakly tug at his cloak.  He batted it away, pushing down even harder until the Generals neck broke with a loud snap.  Kylo released his hold and Hux's lifeless body slid to the floor.  "I want every member of the first order, from the lowest rank to the highest brought into the auditorium immediately" Kylo barked at the frightened faces before him before turning and sweeping out of the room.  One problem solved, one step closer to being with Rey.

"No, Rey this is crazy!  You can't go!" Finn shouted, his eyes wide.  Rey carried on packing, not daring to speak for fear of falling apart.  "Rey think about this.  Really think about it.  You are saying that you are joining Kylo Ren!  The same Kylo Ren who's slaughtered hundreds, who killed his own father, who runs the first order, who tortured Poe for gods sake! Listen to how ridiculous this is!".  Rey stopped packing and turned to Finn, her lip trembling, "Finn it's the only way".  Finn shook his head violently, coming to stand in front of Rey and taking her hands in his, "No Rey, we keep fighting like before, fighting for what we believe in".  Rey shook her head, "We will never win Finn.  They wiped out so many of us on Chandrilla".  Finn squeezed her hands, "Yes, they did!  The very people you are joining killed our comrades, our friends".  Rey pulled her hands away, turning and pushing more clothes into her bag.  "I'm not joining the first order.  Don't you see, this is a chance for me to change everything.  To hopefully make things better".  Finn shook his head solomly "Don't go".  Rey turned to him, watching tears fill his eyes.  She hugged him tightly, "I have to go Finn, don't forget me".  "Don't you forget who you are Rey, don't loose what makes you you" Finn said quietly.

"The first order is over.  There will be two rulers.  Myself and Rey.  You will bow to both of us.Between us we will bring order to the galaxy.  All of your roles will be reassessed and some may be reassigned.  The resistance is no longer our enemy.  This is a new age where we will attempt to come together, to make things better for everyone.  Anyone who resists these changes will be dealt with severely". For a moment the assembled crowd of many thousands hesitated and Kylo watched them through his mask, his heart thumping but then they all raised their right arms in unison.

An hour later and Rey was ready to leave. She had shed her tears and although she hated the way that she had left things with her fellow resistance members and friends, General Leias confidence and belief in her was enough to inspire hope and Rey climbed aboard the shuttle she would be taking with a smile. Only when the door closed and the faces of the only family she'd ever known faded out of sight did she allow herself to break down.

Kylo was waiting for her, he had removed his helmet, terrified of frightening her away. Her ship had been spotted and now, stood as he was before when she came to him on board the Supremacy he realised that,just as they had the last time, his palms were sweating. Butterflies flittered about in his stomach. He was sure that something would ruin this moment. The thought of Rey coming to him had excited him more than anything before. He had lain in his bed last night, his body tingling at the thought of seeing her, almost giving in to the strong urge to relieve himself only to push it away again. No, he had to remain focused. This next step with Rey was important, he couldn't mess it up.

Finally her ship appeared. It landed in the hanger. Kylo watched motionless as two troopers approached, watching with satisfaction as they bowed their heads at her. Rey herself looked beautiful. She wore her hair as she had the last time she had come to him, just the front back. Her Jedi clothes were a pure white and fitted, accentuating her curves. Kylo swallowed hard. It was going to be a challenge to not allow himself to be distracted by her. Rey walked over to him, her face glum, tear stains on her cheeks. Kylo studied her for a moment before turning on his heel, "Follow me".
