"Bad day at school?" tanong ni Krista nang sabay kaming dumating sa club at nag time-in.
I shrugged. It's not like I could tell anyone what's going on in my mind, on what kind of trouble I'm facing thanks to my twin brother.
"You?" tanong ko na lang pabalik.
"Surviving." She smiled.
My heart dropped as fear overcame every fiber of my being.
"Looks like we have a new band for tonight?" komento ni Krista. "Hey, where are you--"
I walked towards the band's direction, burning with rage. But before I could even reach them, Slade appeared right in front of me with a cast on his arm. Normally I'd worry about him but this time I didn't. My anger of his presence in Filimon Heights blurred my compassion.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked, seething and trembling.
"Sil, I know you're mad but please let me explain," Slade pleaded, looking distraught.
I looked around. It was only 6 in the evening and the club was still in its opening preparations. Still, I didn't want to risk being seen with Slade. I didn't want to risk anyone connecting me to Reika's father.
I lead Slade to the rooftop where no one else could see us.
"Now, what the hell are you doing here?" I said, crossing my arms.
"You weren't answering my calls and messages kaya dito na ako pumunta. When the guys learned I was coming here, sumama sila dahil gusto nilang tumugtog dito. Pangako, wala akong ibang plano kundi kausapin ka," he explained. More like begged me to believe him.
"Then what the hell are you doing here?!" I couldn't help but yell.
He looked at me with an expression filled with so much hurt and sadness. "I came here to apologize. I thought a lot about what you said and you were right... I'm sorry, Silver. I'm really sorry."
I took a deep breath and sighed. It had been a while since Slade and I opened up to each other so I tried to keep a straight face.
"You don't have to apologize because honestly, I love having her as my roommate and I have to thank you for it. She'll hate me when she finds out. She'll see it as betrayal," paliwanag ko habang pilit na pinapatatag ang boses kong bumibigay na.
