"You were out of line, Jethro," I said coldly, trying my best to keep my emotions at bay. The last thing I want is for us to fight.

"We have to do the right thing even if it feels wrong," Jethro replied in a calm yet stern tone, like he's gently reminding me of a virtue that he stands for.

I bit my lip, refusing the urge to look at him, afraid to see him at a different light. "There's nothing right with what you did, Jethro. And it scares me that you don't see anything wrong about it."

"Silver..." He shifted his weight on his seat, facing me. "You have to understand. It was all for the greater good. Professors should not be tyrants. There's a fine line between discipline and plain power-tripping."

I nodded, slowly letting my trembling lips free. "Sinong nagsabi sa'yo tungkol sa nangyari kahapon?"

"It doesn't matter--"

He sighed. "Marami ang nakakita kaya mabilis na kumalat."

"Si Warren..." I nodded once again, moistening my lips.

"Your Mom invited me for a charity drive yesterday. I told her I couldn't come dahil may special exams akong kailangang kunin sa klase ni Mr. Burgos. Without my knowledge, Tita Janice talked to him, asking to be more lenient towards me. Along the way, Mr. Burgos became upset and assumed that I was using your last name for my convenience."

"You would never do that," Jethro muttered.

I smiled bitterly, still looking straight ahead. "Well apparently, I did. And now, using my boyfriend's influence, I got a well-respected professor fired and stripped of all his honor and benefits."

"Silver..." he said lifelessly.

I continued, "as far as I know, student evaluations aren't reliable. Some students use it as a way to express suggestions for the betterment of the class and educators, while other students think of it as their chance to get back at their professors. His absences may or may not be justifiable. If there are any serious issues, it should be brought up to the higher-ups where he will be subjected to a fair investigation. Getting him fired through your string was an injustice. It was not your call to make, Jethro."
