Daniel didn't come to the oval during the first break or the second and that left Michelle feeling very hurt and confused. During the second lunch break, she tried to find him but couldn't find him anywhere. The one place she did manage to find him was on the walking path. As she caught up to him he just looked straight ahead and not directly at her.

"I'm sorry your aunt died," Michelle said.

Daniel didn't say anything as he just looked straight ahead. That was the last straw for Michelle.

"God, Daniel!" she said. "What do I have to do to get you to talk to me?"

He answered that question by walking away very quickly. Tears of anger and confusion fell down her face as she watched him walk away from her.

As soon as Michelle got home the first thing she did was walk to the phone in the kitchen. After she dialled Daniel's number she hoped it would be Daniel that answered the phone. Even if he had answered the phone then at least she would hear his voice and try to get him to talk to her. But it wasn't Daniel that answered the phone.

"Hello," Mr. Hughes said.

"Hello, is Daniel home?" Michelle asked.

"Who is this?"

"I'm Michelle and I need to talk to Daniel,"

"He's not home,"

She suspected that it was a lie and didn't like it.

"Then why didn't you say that in the first place?" she asked frustrated.

"I always ask who's calling first before I pass over the phone," he said unappreciative of her tone.

"But I need to talk to Daniel,"

"Daniel's aunt has died and he doesn't want to talk to anyone,"

Michelle was sick and tired of hearing that and wanted answers.

"No, that's bullshit," she said. "I'm his girlfriend and we've talked to each other about everything. Why would he stop talking to me now?"

Mr. Hughes hung up on Michelle without saying a word. She couldn't understand what she had done wrong because it wasn't her fault that his aunt had died and she hated feeling so confused.

Daniel hated that he couldn't talk to Michelle. She was the one person he wanted to talk to more than anyone. However what choice did he have? The Stranger had murdered his aunt for a reason and his uncle wouldn't talk to him about. If Daniel pushed his luck then who knows what the Stranger would do to Michelle. That's what he was thinking about as he tossed and turned in bed trying to sleep. Then the Stranger materialised in his bedroom and he was furious to see him.

"I've really got to admire the strength of character you've shown lately," the Stranger said.

"Fuck you!" he replied.

"Daniel, don't ruin it like that," the Stranger said disappointed.

He got out of bed and stood up to face the Stranger.

"Why did you kill my aunt?" he asked. "Was it to stop me from seeing Michelle?"

"Your aunt's death was on your aunt and uncle," the Stranger replied. "It had nothing to do with Michelle,"

"Oh bullshit," Daniel said. "You just want me to be your puppet,"

"Daniel, this really has nothing to do with you and Michelle," the Stranger replied.
