When John arrived at school he didn't expect anyone to approach him. Instead the last person he expected to approach him did. It was Natalie who was running towards him with an extremely worried look on her face. When she reached John she hugged him tightly. At first, he was momentarily shocked but then he hugged her back.
"I thought you wanted me to stay away from you," John said.
"I did until I heard about Ms. Mathis' death," Natalie replied.
John found that surprising because he thought that would enforce Natalie's fear of the situation.
"Are you okay?" she asked. "I've been so worried about you,"
"I'm fine," he replied. "Now are you okay?"
"No, I'm not okay. This whole thing is so fucked up!"
"I know it is,"
Natalie was hugging John so tightly he wasn't sure if she was going to let him go. Eventually, she did but it was very reluctantly.

John had a little difficulty concentrating in his classes for the obvious reason that all he could think about was Michelle. In his history class before the second lunch break, he was looking out the window and he saw something he didn't expect to see. In the reflection of the window, John saw Michelle standing behind him wearing the pyjamas she was wearing the night she had been taken and had blood dripping from her neck.
"JESUS CHRIST!" John yelled out in shock.
The history teacher, Ms. Anastasia, looked at him in surprise and offence.
"John!" she said.
John looked behind him to see there was no one standing there.
"John!" Ms. Anastasia said. "Would you care to explain to the class what your outburst was about?"
John looked at Ms. her but he was still shocked by what he saw.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Anastasia," John said. "I thought I saw something,"
The class of students laughed at John but he was still too shocked to care.

Under any other circumstances John would have gone straight to his detention with Mrs. Robyn but John couldn't keep the hallucination of Michelle out of his mind because it was so real to him. So he did the only thing he could think of. he walked into the library and straight up to the card catalog. As he started to look through it Natalie walked up to him very surprised.
"John, what are you doing here?" Natalie asked. "Don't you have detention with Mrs. Robyn?"
"That can wait," John said. "I have something I need to find,"
"What do you need to find?"
"Books on missing people. If I can find the right book then maybe I can find a pattern,"
"John, how is that going to help? I don't think people disappear because of supernatural means,"
"How do you know they haven't? If I can find a pattern then maybe I can find out more information about Michelle and the Stranger if I can track down relatives of people that have gone missing,"
"John, I can't see a book like that being available in a high school library,"
"Look, I have to try something. I can't give up on my little sister,"
"I know you can't,"
John looked back at the card catalog and found the perfect book on missing people and disappearances. After he found the book and checked it out John and Natalie walked out of the library holding hands. For John, it was a welcome feeling to be holding her right hand. But it wasn't a welcome sight for Martin when he saw them walking out of the library.
