Chapter 38 : The Future is Female

Rhyme had apparently written a article about Home Ec and Rhyme was really confessed. In home Ec we had to Iron , but when during that I had gotten called down to the office , I had made my way there and saw that my mom was there with Jenna ," Em ,as you know Cody only comes on weekend's but Jenna had told him about you missing him so he's actually here and he want's to talk , I'll be excusing you from school, but just this once, she called me and I just had to say , yes since she's a friend in need" my mom said ," But You said that Cody only come on the weekends , it's the middle of the week " I said ," Well , I told him that you missed him and he wanted to come back and see you" said Jenna, I thanked her for that and I went over to Cody's.

When I had gotten there , I opened the door , it was unlocked. I walked in and went up to Cody's room, I knocked on the door " Cody?" I asked , I opened the door and saw him laying on his bed not facing the door. I walked over to his bed and sat down " Hey Cody" I said , he turned around and rolled over , "Hey" he said , he looked very defeated and sad. " I'm sorry about your parents" I said, " It's okay" he said as he sat up ," So how have things been?" he asked , " it's been good , Rhyme just texted me and said that she started a movement for Home Ec to not be part of school , she's freaking out" I smiled and he gave a little smile ," Hey Em , have you found someone else?" he asked, I didn't know what to say so I just said Yes , I had found Ezra " Yes I did , did you?" I asked , He shook his head ,"no I haven't , I bet he's a lucky guy to have someone like you" he said.

There was a awkward silence between us , "Hey can you play me something?" I asked reaching for his Guitar and handing it to him. He began to play our song, I could tell he was crying ,but he just kept on playing , he looked like a mess. He stopped playing but kept on singing as he leaned in and I leaned in to , we kissed , I pulled away and looked at him " What was that for?" I asked ," I'm saying goodbye' he said , I kissed his forehead" Still friends?" I asked ," Still friends" he said as I pulled him into a hug, " I promise I'll come and visit you as much as I can" I told him and he smiled, We talked the whole time until my mom came and picked me up. I feltlike a different person now that I had Cody in my life again.

When I had gotten home , Rhyme had told all about what had happened at school and all I could do was laugh , she asked me why I wasn't at school and all I said was " I just had to talk to someone" I told her and she nodded.
