Everyone was getting ready for Rooney's 16th birthday , we were all wearing shirts that had Rooney's face on it. I hadn't visited Cody yet , I guess I just didn't want to see him in the hospital. When Rooney walked we all said " Happy Birthday!" we all yelled , " Oh , my god , this is better then I ever imagined" Rooney said , " Well I got some help from Effie whos the youngest even planner in the state so" Rhyme said as she pulled us into a hug , " I know , I'm amazing , your welcome" said Effie , "Kayla , you came" Rooney said , "Of course I did , you only turn 16 once" she said , " Heads up" Steph said as she threw a shirt at Rooney , " These are so cute" Rooney said.
" I'm defiantly putting his on" she said, " Hey none of that, we're here to party" said Birdie , We all went to dance , a few minutes later They had pulled up a video and it was all of us saying Happy birthday to Rooney. I needed to get some air so I began to walk outside when I walked into Ezra ,"Hey" I said , he smiled " Hey' , " I was just going outside" I told him he nodded " Actually Em can I talk to you for a second?" he asked , " Uh yeah sure" I said , we both we outside , " What's up" I said , he took both of my hands and held them , " Em you know I like you" he said , " I like you too Ezra" I said , " I mean , I like-like you" he said , I smiled " Yeah I do to " I said , "Then that gives me the courage to do this" he said and he pulled me into a kiss. Once we pulled away from each other his face was a bright red , " Would you like to go on a date with me?" he asked , I nodded " how about right now ,we can go to the skating place , it's still opened" I said , he smiled and we went.
While we were skating and having a fun time , I had gotten a text from Jenna;
He's Dying , please come and say goodbye
My heart dropped , Ezra noticed and took my hand " What's wrong?" he asked , " Something happened , I need to go to the hospital" I said and began to leave " I'll come with you" he said , I agreed and we both ran to the hospital. As I walked into the Hospital room Jenna was looking at him crying , she looked up then back at him I walked up to him , I didn't want to see him like this, he was hooked up to machines to help him breathe but he's heart rate was slowly going down , I looked around and saw that Jenna had brought his Guitar , I walked over to it and picked it up. I walked back over to him and began to play our song.

His mom began to cry even more , she collapse onto her son , begging him to come back , I stood up and set his guitar down and I back away , Ezra had out his hands on my shoulder pulling me into a hug , I turned and buried my face into his chest and cried, he whispered to me telling me it's okay. But it wasn't okay, Cody was dead. I pulled away from Ezra and looked at Cody , He just looked dead , most people say the when someone dies they look peaceful , but he didn't , he just looked dead. Jenna was still crying , but I noticed that it was just us three in the room , his dad wasn't there. But why would he be ? , I just stood there and looked at him , I had stopped crying , I wanted to leave but my feet wouldn't move. Ezra had took me hands and lead me out of the room. I whipped away my tears ," Are you ok?" he asked , I just starred at the room that we had left. " I'll be fine" I lied.
