I knew I should've been more excited to see my parents and April but all I was able to think about was all the things I needed to say to them. How I would even begin to explain it all. I didn't want to lie but I also knew I couldn't confide in them about everything.
"Mommy, Mommy!" I beamed up at my mother who was making dinner. "Can I help?" I asked her enthusiastically as I pulled on her beautiful sundress.
"Sure, honey. Here." She answered, handing me the strainer, picking me up and placing me on the counter. "Why don't you put the strainer in the sink for me while I get the pot of noodles." She said sweetly, making me nod excitedly.
My mother brought over the pot of hot water and noodles to strain when she spoke. "Watch out honey, don't get hurt by the hot water." She poured the noodles in the strainer and the steam flew around us making me smile. I could feel the heat radiating my whole body as the steam engulfed me.
She put the pot on the other side of the sink and took the noodles to the counter. When she placed the noodles on the counter, she accidentally dropped the vegetables on the ground.
"Shoot." She said trying not to swear under her breath as she bent down to pick up the vegetables, but I stopped her.
"It's okay mommy! I can help!" Before she could stop me, I lifted the vegetables with my powers and put each of them back on the counter next to me. "Look what I can do!" I said as I picked up one of the vegetables with my mind.
My mother laughed sweetly making her way over to me. "Y-Yes, Lulu look at you. You are so powerful." She beamed through a smile picking me up. "My sweet angel." She continued giving me a kiss on the cheek.
As she hugged me, her perfume wafted towards me making me smile brightly again. The familiar smell of mint and lemons that I missed so much.
"Luna? Are you alright?" Damon asked from the back seat, snapping me out of my thoughts. Clearing my throat. "Y-Yeah. Why?" I asked them as they both grew silent as I remembered my surroundings.
Damon pointed to my hands that were on fire in my lap. I stared at them wide eyed and instantly shook them and balled them into fists trying to put the fire out.
"What were you thinking about?" Damon asked as my heart beat erratically. "I don't understand. Why did I use my powers? I didn't mean to." I confessed looking at Gabriel not wanting to answer Damon.
"It could be because you haven't used them in a long time. And now they are fighting back." Gabriel explained making me look at him. "When you become emotional you use your powers. Whether you mean to or not." He continued not looking away.
"So, now I won't be able to control them?" I asked nervously, making him shrug. "You have to be stronger than them. You have to show them who is in control." Gabriel answered.
"You make it sound like my powers are alive." I scoffed in annoyance and disbelief. "Tell me, your powers consist of earth, air, water and fire, no? And water and Earth is alive is it not? All living things need air, water and fire to live. So, yes your powers are alive." Gabriel stated making me look over to him, never thinking about it like that before.
"You need to learn from them and control them before they control you. Like what they did to Thea all those years ago." He continued making me chuckle awkwardly as I replied.
"Yeah. A-About that." I began making him frown as Damon cleared his throat awkwardly. "Thea was mind controlled into killing the town." Damon stated as Gabriel's eyes went wide.
"What?" Gabriel hissed, finally looking at me. "You're wrong." He continued angrily. "Luna is a psychic. She can see things that have happened in her dreams." Damon defended making me thankful I didn't have to. "She had a dream last night that Mathew mind controlled her into creating the earthquake and fire. Killing the whole town for what the hunters did to her parents." Damon explained as Gabriel's eyes continued to widen.
