"What?" Damon breathed out as I stared at the man who still continues to make me feel disgusting and weak. "I-I see him. He-" I began but then his dark hooded eyes met mine making my body freeze. Stumbling backwards trying to hold onto Damon for stability.
His arms wrapped around me as I struggled to hold myself together. Sam smirked at me as he walked up the patio until he was a few feet in front of me. "Long time no see." Sam said, staring up at him wide eyed. I tried to move away when he grabbed my arm harshly. A feeling of dread crept up from the pit of his stomach
Looking down at his hand touching me in disbelief. I stood for a couple seconds, my stomach churning. Desperately wanting to shrink and to crawl away.
"Four years is a long time to learn the perks of being dead." Sam said again, making me look up at him. Every muscle in my body screamed at me to flee, but I remained frozen.
"Luna, what is going on?" Damon asked worriedly but I couldn't tear my eyes away from Sam. I finally pulled away from his grasp. "Please. You can't do this to me. You're dead. I... I-I killed you." I said, making him laugh wickedly.
My breath quickened and I used every muscle in my body to stifle a whimper. Tears fell down my face as I remembered the last time I heard that laugh. "Yeah. I remember." Sam spit smirking down at me. "And who might this be?" He asked as he looked at Damon who was staring at me full of confusion and worry.
"Luna? What are you staring at?" April slurred as she walked over to us. Looking over at her with pleading eyes trying to appear fine. "I-" I tried to speak but nothing would come out.
Sam gasped in fake shock. "Do they not know about us?" He asked as he held his other hand over his heart pretending to be hurt. "Please." I sobbed out. "Don't do this." I begged Sam. He looked down at me with amusement.
"Who are you talking to?" April asked again, making me look at her trying to come up with an excuse. "I-Nothing." I lied watching Liam walk up to us making me feel even more uncomfortable. "Hey, why don't you introduce me to your friends?" Liam said to April with a smile making her giggle.
I noticed the look on Liam's face knowing there was something wrong. "Y-Yeah. Sure." She slurred as her and Liam left the three of us alone. Silently grateful towards him for keeping April preoccupied somewhere else trying not to get worried at the idea of him meeting more needy women. I had enough on my plate to worry about. "Luna, what do you mean you see Sam?" Damon asked, making me look up at him.
"Is this your boyfriend?" Sam asked in a sing-song voice, making me shutter. "Does he know what kind of monster you are?" He asked with disgust.
"H-He's right here." I told Damon as I stared at Sam in fear. Trying to steady my breath to calm the panic coursing through me. "Why are you doing this? Please just leave me alone." I begged again, making him laugh again.
"No can do, Luna. I need your help." Sam said, making me frown. "W-What?" I spit tilting my head standing firm. "Are you dense? Why on Earth would I ever help you?" I scoffed, filling with rage.
"You're clearly still new to the whole 'witch thing'? Someone needs to help me cross over." Sam said nonchalantly, making my lips part. "Well, good luck with that." I said as I turned around to walk back into the house. Suddenly Sam appeared in front of me again inches away from me. My heart began to hammer against my chest trying to keep eye contact with him.
"You still don't get it. Crossing over will benefit you also. Unless you want me to come say 'hi' every now and then." Sam smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. Quickly swatting his hand away made him let out an amused huff.
"So,you're going to help me. Or will I have to make your life a living hell?" Sam whispered, leaning into my ear making me cringe. "Too late." I barked back making him chuckle and pull my hair harshly again making me wince as tears fell down my face.
