The One Who Stares Behind

Why are there questions that simple words can’t answer? Why does it need to be felt to be truly believed?

I was left sitting at the counter island, just observing his actions. Soon, he was approached by those kind of women. I could only roll my eyes at the dismal sight before me, especially as I watched a flirtatious worm wrap its arm— around Lexus. Masyado ng mainit ang katawan ko para mas lalo pang uminit ang ulo ko.

Damn. Stop smiling, Lexus! You don’t usually do that. Come on, meet my eyes. Feel my anger!

May ibinulong pa ang babae dito at tsaka mahinang tumawa.
Mahigpit kong hinawakan ang basong iniinuman ko.

"Give me your best drink "

"Ma'am?"

"Do I have to repeat it again?"

"N..no ma'am,"

"This our b-best drink ma'am that we could offer to you."

Bago pa man tuluyang maibaba sa mesa ko ang inumin ay nahablot ko na ito mula sa bartender at mabilisang nilagok ang laman niyon. Napangiwi ako nang gumuhit ang lasa nito sa aking lalamunan. Geez.

Napatulala na lamang ang lalaking nasa harap ko dahilan para ismiran ko ito. "Don’t stare. It’s dangerous," I warned him, and he quickly turned away to attend to other customers.

I stood up from my seat and made my way straight to the Center Island stage. The alcohol I had consumed was probably enough to give me the courage I needed for this moment.

Nang may humarang sa aking lalaki na patuloy na kinakantiyawan ng mga kasama niya."Man! That’s Zafhyrna Romero, for heaven’s sake!"anang isa na may kulot na buhok at tinapik tapik pa ang lalaki na nasa harap ko.

"Go prove yourself to us!"

"Show us what you got, you bastard!"

The man in front of me grinned at his companions before turning his gaze toward me.

"You're making this scene undeniably hot as hell."

I couldn’t help but smile at his comment. "Really?" I playfully asked.

Lumapit ako ng bahagya dito. Sapat na distansya para maibulong dito ang mensahe galing impyerno. "I can turn your life into hell if you don't leave now. I can burn you alive,  so do yourself a favor. Get lost." I whispered as I took my distance from him and put a devilish smile on my lips.

"What now?" I asked mockingly, making him visibly anxious as he quickly hurried away.

"Let’s go home!" he told his companions, and I even smiled at them as they left. Now. Better.

I continued walking towards Lexus, who was still conversing with the flirtatious woman draped over him.
Bawat hakbang ng aking sapatos ay may dalang pagbabanta. Tila ba nakikisimpatiya sa gagawin ko.
Oras na makalapit ako, papaitimin ko ang kulay pula mong buhok. You red bitch.

Tuluyan na akong nakalapit at ramdam kong natigilan rin ang ilang kasama ni Lexus sa pagtugtog kanina upang sipatin ako tingin ngunit hindi siya na masyadong abala sa pakikipaglandian sa babaeng yun na kapwa nakatalikod sa akin.

"Lexus.." tawag ko sa pangalan nito. Ngunit imbes na siya ang humarap ay mataray akong nilingon ng babaeng kanina ko pa pinapatay sa isip ko.

"Who are you?"

I chuckled softly. "Who are you to ask me?" I replied arrogantly.

"Of course! You're just another one of his whores. Why even ask? It's pretty obvious. But sorry, it's my time now, and we're still enjoying the moment."
