Kiyoko Aizawa's pov

"Okay, this is going to hurt. You can squeeze his hand for support," the EMT told me.

"Yeah. I figured," I replied. Todoroki held out his hand and I grabbed onto it. I looked at him. There was a nurse on standby with gauze in hand. She gingerly grabbed the handle of the knife. She pulled up on the knife quickly, but strategically. I winced through my gritted teeth and squeezed Todoroki's hand. I felt the muscles in my leg tense up along with almost every muscle in my body from the stinging pain. The nurse quickly put pressure on the wound and continued to push down. I looked over to Todoroki and realized I was still holding his hand. I quickly let go. "Sorry," I mumbled.

"Don't worry about it," Todoroki replied. I looked at the bandages on Todoroki's arm. I felt a little sad. I frowned. He tilted his head. "What's wrong?"

"Your wounds," I said. He glanced at his arm. "You got hurt because of me. Because I couldn't dodge quick enough."

"Hey, you're the one who took a knife to the forehead for me," he said, gesturing to my forehead. "And besides, I made a promise to you. I'm sorry I wasn't able to keep it."

"How were you supposed to know the four of us were going to fight the Hero Killer without the pros?" I asked him. The nurse holding my gauze widened his eyes. He suddenly looked as if he had a million questions, yet he didn't say a word. "It's okay. I'm just glad nobody was critically injured."

"Okay," the nurse said. "It's clotted. We can patch that right up, but if it starts bleeding though, tell us immediately." He put on a new bandage and gave me a water bottle. I thanked him and he left the room. They allowed Midoriya and Iida back in the room.

"They got it out okay?" Midoriya asked. I gave him a thumbs up. He gave a small sigh of relief. The room went quiet with the same thought looming over all of our heads: the fight. Nobody said a word. Iida and Midoriya climbed into their respective beds. Todoroki got off of mine and sat back in his.

"It's late," Todoroki pointed out. "We should sleep."

"I guess," Midoriya muttered. I untied my hair and I brushed through it with my fingers. I continued to brush through it when I felt a pair of eyes on me. I looked around and saw Todoroki looking at me.

"What?" I asked. He looked away. He shifted and looked at his bed.

"Nothing. I've just never seen you with your hair down," Todoroki said. I tilted my head as I ran my fingers through my hair. His face was slightly pink, like it was at the sports festival. "You look nice." I looked at him.

'She looks beautiful,'

I looked away from him and blushed. "Uh, thanks," I mumbled. I felt my heart beat speed up a bit. Midnight called me beautiful before, it's something people say to each other all the time. A nurse came in to do a check up on us. We all told her we were feeling better. She turned off the main light and we all laid down. As my head hit the pillow, I begged that I wouldn't have any nightmares. Not tonight, not with Midoriya and Iida around.

I guess I wished from the monkey's paw. I didn't have any nightmares because I didn't sleep at all.

Once I saw the sun in the window glowing a little, I sat up. I looked out the window as the past 12 hours replayed in my head on repeat. The look in the Hero Killer's eyes kept me up. The bitterness, the rage, the tenacity. It spun around my head like a carousel that couldn't stop. The three boys shifted the entire night. I'd assume they didn't sleep either, but I stayed silent.

Todoroki let out a deep sigh. I turned and went into his head.

'Everything alright?' I asked, knowing the answer. I was really just trying to be polite at this point.
