Peter glanced around as Philip trotted slowly through the woods, noticing how it was getting darker and the leaves on the trees were getting thicker.
He couldn't stop his heart from pounding in his chest, not since he'd heard the wolf howl earlier that day - just before they'd left Narnia.
Philip stopped dead when he heard a twig snap, Peter immediately drawing his sword.
Taking a deep breath he jumped down from Philip, deciding to instead walk. "Stay close." He whispered, taking a step forward.
Philip nodded in agreement, following behind Peter.
Peter jumped when he heard another twig snap, and took a step back when a wolf stepped out of some nearby bushes... he was waiting for that.
Holding his sword out in front of him he stepped in front of Philip, taking a deep breath.
The wolf let out a small chuckle. "A but far from home aren't we?" He said slowly, causing Peter to frown slightly. "I know who you are." The wolf laughed. "King Peter isn't it?"
Peter swallowed hard, he'd killed a wolf before, there was no reason why he couldn't do it again. "Yeah." He said, shrugging slightly.
The wolf stared at him. "And why are you this far from home, may I ask?" He said.
Peter raised an eyebrow. "That's none of your business." He spat.
The wolf laughed. "Shouldn't you be with your brother?" He said slowly. "Making the most of the time he's got left?"
Peter's heart skipped a beat. "You know?" He mumbled.
The wolf laughed again. "I know that the Queen poisoned your brother yes." He said.
Peter shook his head. "She's no Queen." He said.
The wolf stared at him. "Well, you're no king but here we are." He said casually.
Peter took a deep breath. "I was crowned by Aslan." He said, trying to stop his voice from shaking.
"Well, he's no king either." The wolf said.
Peter swallowed hard, not knowing what to say after that.
But the wolf continued. "Well." He said slowly. "I hope you said goodbye to your brother, because you won't be around to see him again."
Peter's eyes went wide as the wolf pounced at him, quickly ducking and only just managing to shove his sword into it's chest.
The wolf let out a yelp before falling to the ground, dead.
Peter took a deep breath, lowering his sword slowly.
"That was close." Philip muttered, staring at the dead wolf.
Peter nodded. "Too close." He sighed. "And I doubt that's the only wolf out here." He added under his breath.
"Shall we continue?" Philip asked.
Peter nodded again. "I'll walk." He said. "Give you a break."
Philip stared at him for a moment before nodding slowly. "Come on then."

"Are you absolutely sure?" Susan said in shock.
It was late that night, probably around 11pm, and Susan was with Orious and a few others in the meeting room, after Orious had called an emergency meeting.
Orious nodded. "I'm afraid so." He sighed. "Some of the witches followers were spotted in the woods, heading this way."
"How long until they get here?" Susan asked. "If they are coming here that is." She added quickly.
"I'd say two days." A faun said slowly. "Maybe less."
Susan took a deep breath. "What do we do if they do come here?" She asked.
Orious hesitated. "They more than likely want revenge for their Queen." He said slowly. "So we need to protect the castle, and keep them out."
Susan nodded. "I'm gonna go and warn Lucy." She sighed, turning to leave. "Thank you for letting me know."
"And your majesty?"
Susan spun around to face Orious. "Yes?" She asked, frowning at the look on the centaurs face.
Orious sighed. "I'd suggest placing guards outside your brothers room." He said.
Susan's heart skipped a beat, but she hid her panick and nodded slowly.
"I will do." She said, before quickly leaving.
I'd suggest placing guards outside your brothers room.
Susan took a deep breath... did Orious really think that the witches followers would come after Edmund?
Sighing she bit her lip, beginning to walk up the stairs. If some of them knew what the witch did to Edmund, that she poisoned him, then they'd know he'd be an easy target, so she wouldn't be surprised.
Taking a deep breath she reached her brothers room and stepped quietly inside, seeing Edmund fast asleep, buried beneath the blankets, and Lucy still awake, staring at her older brother from where she lay on her side beside him.
She looked up when Susan walked in, and at seeing the worried look on her face she frowned. "What's wrong?" She whispered. "What did Orious want?"
Susan sighed and sat down on the edge of the bed, reaching over to lightly play with her brothers sweaty hair. "They've spotted some of the witches followers heading this way." She said slowly.
Lucy's eyes went wide in concern. "Are they actually coming here?" She asked.
Susan shrugged. "Your guess is as good as mine." She sighed.
"How - How many?" Lucy asked hesitantly.
Susan bit her lip. "Atleast a hundred." She whispered.
Lucy's mouth fell open in shock. "You - You don't think they'll come after - after Ed do you?" She asked slowly, her voice shaking.
Susan stared at her. "Well, if they know that the witch has poisoned him, then they know he'll be an easy target." She mumbled. "And they'd certainly want revenge for what happened to Jadis."
Lucy's face fell as her eyes filled with tears.
"But hey." Susan said quickly. "We don't even know if they are coming here."
Lucy swallowed hard and nodded. "Yeah." She choked.
Susan sighed and glanced back down at Edmund, who's breathing was slow as he slept, his skin as white as paper, and he was shivering too, but his temperature was way too high.
"I'm gonna go get a bowl of cold water." Susan muttered. "You should probably get some sleep." She told Lucy as she stood. "It's getting late."
"I'm staying here." Lucy said firmly.
Susan sighed. "Alright." She said. "But please, go to sleep."
Lucy nodded simply and lay down, sighing a little bit.
Susan smiled sadly and made her way towards the bathroom. She'd only got to the door though when she heard Lucy's scream.
"Susan?!" Her little sister screamed. "Edmund!"
