Returning the favour

"What?" Lucy whispered.
"Edmund's gone!" Susan almost shouted.
Lucy glanced over to where her brother had once been... but Susan was right, he wasn't there anymore. "Was - was he awake when we were talking?" She asked suddenly, her voice shaking.
Susan frowned at her. "What do you mean?" She asked.
"You don't think he's gone after Peter do you?" Lucy asked hesitantly.
Susan froze for a moment before shaking her head. "How can he?!" She exclaimed. "He can hardly walk!"
"Do you really think that that would stop him?" Lucy asked, now looking really worried.
Susan swallowed hard. "Why would he do that?" She whispered.
"he's returning the favour." Lucy muttered. "Peter went to help him, and now he's gone to help Peter."
Susan took a deep breath. "We'll easily be able to catch up with him." She said quickly. "He can't of gone far at all."
Lucy nodded and climbed onto Philip's back, Susan running over.
"Well look what we have here."
Susan spun around at the mocking voice, only to see two wolves, a hag and a minotaur stood not fifty metres away.
She immediately reached for her bow and arrow, Lucy doing the same with her dagger.
"One more move and I'll send my friend here ahead to kill your brother." The first wolf snapped.
Susan froze, her eyes going slightly wider. "Don't." She said, shaking her head.
"Then drop your weapons." The hag said, a smirk on her face.
Susan took a deep breath as she placed her bow and arrow on the floor in front of her... now what were they supposed to do?

Edmund coughed slightly as he staggered through the woods, forcing himself to stay on his feet even though it caused him agony.
After being awoken by Philip he was more than slightly alarmed to hear that Peter had been injured, and knew he couldn't wait any longer. He'd - as quietly as he could - stood and left his sisters behind, not wanting them to get hurt by anything.
His only thought as he made his way quickly through the woods was that he had to reach Peter, no matter what.
After ten minutes he doubled over, going into a harsh coughing fit which caused tears to roll quickly down his cheeks.
He tried taking deep breaths, tried to calm down, and after what felt like an eternity he slowly stopped coughing.
Glancing down at his hands he cringed harshly at the blood, wiping them quickly against his trousers and only now realising that he was still in his pyjamas, a long, thick blue cloak wrapped around his neck and shoulders.
Taking a deep breath he began walking again, only to, five minutes later, double over and throw up, letting out small sobs as he did.
After he'd recovered he stood up straight and wiped his mouth before - without a second thought - continuing to walk.

Peter could hardly keep his eyes open as he sat there, trying his hardest to ignore the pain he was in.
Looking down he saw that the once cream coloured scarf had died a dark red, telling Peter that the wound still hadn't stopped bleeding.
Letting out a frustrated sigh he let his head fall back against the tree, the simple movement causing it to start pounding, which caused Peter to groan.
He took a deep breath - as deep as he could - and clutched the apple even tighter in his hands, he couldn't just sit here! He had to get it back to Edmund.
Grabbing his sword and bracing himself for the pain he knew would come he pulled himself into an upright sitting position, only just managing to hold back a cry.
It took maybe five minutes but he eventually got himself standing, gripping the tree trunk for support. Nodding slightly to himself he took a step forward, only managing to take ten more steps before he collapsed to the floor again, letting out a quiet cry as pain shot through his entire body.
Dragging himself over to the nearest tree he slumped against it, tears rolling down his cheeks as he gripped his stomach. He couldn't do it, he just couldn't, and as he sat there he finaly aloud himself to pass out.

One hour later

Edmund didn't know how long he'd been walking for, but it felt like forever, and the pain...
Groaning slightly he stopped walking, reaching out and gripping the trunk of a tree to steady himself. He couldn't stop for long, he wouldn't stop for long, not with Peter in danger.
Philip had said he had been attacked by wolves... what if they came back? Wait, no... they would've killed the wolves... but what if more came?
Taking a deep breath and letting out a few coughs he continued walking, the thought making his heart pound... from what Philip had said there was no way that Peter would be able to protect himself from a wolf attack, no way.
He stopped dead when something landed just ahead of him, and it took him nearly ten seconds to figure out that it was a gryffin.
Swallowing hard he didn't dare move, not sure if the gryffin was good or bad... most were on the Narnians side, but he wasn't taking any chances.
The gryffin turned around suddenly, causing Edmund to freeze in fear when it spotted him.
"Your majesty!" It exclaimed.
Edmund breathed a sigh of relief at this and leant against a neaby tree.
"What are you doing all the way out here?!" The gryffin asked, walking over and standing in front of Edmund. "How are you all the way out here?!"
Edmund sighed a little. "My brother." He choked. "King Peter, he's injured... badly."
The gryffin looked shocked to say the least. "Where is he?" He asked.
Edmund shook his head. "Probably around twenty seven miles in that direction." He whispered, pointing ahead.
"Right then." The gryffin said, nodding slowly. "Do you reckon you'd be able to get on my back sir?"
Edmund looked startled. "You mean-" He paused, not wanting to get his hops up.
The gryffin nodded. "I will take you to your brother and then go back to Cair and get help."
"But Cair's under attack." Edmund choked, making his way towards the Gryffin
"Not anymore." The gryffin told him as he climbed onto his back. "We won."
Edmund breathed a sigh of relief at this, letting out a few coughs.
"Hold on." The gryffin told him before taking off.
Edmund took a deep breath, feelimg alot more sick now, but he managed a small smile. "Thank you."
