Peter flinched as he walked through the woods, rubbing at his arms and the irritating burns.
"Are you alright sir?" Philip asked.
Peter looked over at him and raised an eyebrow. "It's Peter, Philip." He said. "Just Peter. And I'm fine."
Philip nodded a little and they fell silent again. "We should reach the garden by tonight." He said after a while.
Peter's heart skipped a beat. "Thank Aslan." He muttered under his breath. "But we would've reached it sooner if it weren't for that stupid hag." He couldn't help but add, kicking a stone in frustration.
"We only lost a few hours." Philip said quietly.
Peter sighed. "Yeah, I know." He mumbled. "But that might be a few hours too much, I'll never forgive myself if we get back to Cair and Edmund is-" He swallowed hard. "Is dead."
"He'll be fine your- Peter." Philip corrected quickly. "You just have to have faith, in Aslan and in your brother."
Peter sighed. "I wish Aslan was here." He said slowly.
"I know you do." Philip replied. "But he's only recently left don't forget. And he has other countries to go to."
Peter bit his lip and nodded. "It would just be better if he was here." He sighed. "Even if it were to stay with Ed."
"I understand what you mean Peter." Philip said. "If you don't mind me asking, but does Edmund know? What Aslan did for him?"
Peter sighed. "No." He mumbled. "We haven't told him, and I don't think he's figured it out."
Philip nodded a little. "Will you ever tell him?" He asked.
Peter hesitated. "I don't know." He sighed after a while. "He's already feeling guilty enough for going to the witch, imagine how he'd feel if he knew that Aslan was killed because if him, for him."
Philip stared at him. "I understand." He said.
"Obviously he will figure it out eventually." Peter muttered. "When there's not so much to think about."
"Probably." Philip said, nodding a little.
Peter swallowed hard. "This is all my fault." He whispered, shaking his head.
"Pardon?" Philip questioned, looking confused.
"It's all my fault!" Peter exclaimed. "If I hadn't been so hard on Ed in the first place, he wouldn't of gone to the witch, he wouldn't of nearly got sacrificed, he wouldn't of nearly died! And he wouldn't of been poisoned!"
Philip sighed. "You can't blame yourself." He said slowly.
Peter kicked a rock, sighing. "Too late." He muttered under his breath.
After that the two continued in silence, listening to the birds and saying nothing to each other.

Susan sighed as she placed a hand gently on Edmund's back, cringing as he threw up into the bucket he held so tightly that his knuckles were going white. "It's okay." She whispered gently, casting a quick glance at Lucy, who looked like she was about to burst into tears.
"You're alright." Susan mumbled as Edmund slowly lay down, wiping his mouth with a handkerchief Susan gave him.
Susan sighed and grabbed the bucket, disappearing into the bathroom without a word.
Lucy stared after her for a while before crawling across the bed and laying down beside her older brother, staring at him with nothing but worry in her blue eyes.
Edmund turned his head slowly to face his sister, looking absolutely awful even if he did try and give her a smile. "Hey." He choked, lifting his arm slightly, using all his strength to even do that.
Lucy immediately curled into Edmund's side, Edmund placing his arm around her shoulders. "Are you alright?" Lucy whispered.
It was clear that Edmund hesitated, but he answered with: "I'm alright Lu."
Lucy glanced up at him. "Peter will be back soon." She said reassuringly, trying to sound confident. "I promise."
Edmund gave her a small smile. "I know he will be." He managed to force out, flinching at the pain it caused him.
He nearly jumped out of his skin when there was a knock at the door.
Lucy sighed, sitting up slowly. "Yes?" She asked.
The door opened and Orious walked in, a rather worried look on his face.
"Is everything alright?" Lucy asked quickly as the door closed behind the centaur and he walked over to stand by the bed.
"I'm afraid not your majesty." He sighed.
"What's wrong?" Lucy asked, noticing that Edmund's eyes has squeezed shut and he was shaking his head back and forth, clearly in rather alot of pain.
"I'm afraid that the witches army are now no more than a mile away." Orious said slowly.
"What!"
The two turned to see Susan coming out the bathroom, a bowl of water and a cloth in her hand. But her eyes were wide and she looked extremely worried.
Orious nodded slowly. "I would highly advise hiding." He said. "Although, leaving the castle would probably be better."
"We can't leave." Susan said quickly, running over to the bed and placing the bowl and cloth on the bedside table. "Not with Edmund like this, we'd never get far."
Orious nodded. "Then you need to hide." He said. "But if it becomes too dangerous then I'll have no choice but to make you leave."
Susan swallowed hard, glancing at Edmund quickly before looking back up at the centaur. "I understand." She said. "But only if it gets too dangerous."
Orious nodded. "Of course." He said, bowing slightly.
Susan nodded and turned to Edmund, kneeling beside the bed and placing a hand on the top of his head. "Ed?" She whispered gently.
Edmund's eyes opened and he turned to face Susan, tears in his eyes. "They're here." He choked.
Susan nodded. "I know." She said. "And we need to hide."
Edmund's heart skipped a beat, but he slowly nodded anyway.
Susan gave him a weak smile before looking at Lucy. "Reckon you could help me get him out of bed?" She asked.
Lucy nodded and clambered down, standing beside Susan as Susan pulled the covers off her brother and helped him stand.
Edmund immediately swayed, his legs buckling beneath him, but both Susan and Lucy managed to keep him standing - Just.
"Come on." Susan sighed, she didn't know why, but she had a horrible feeling that they would, unfortunately, have to leave the castle...
