Susan sighed sadly as she sat a fast asleep Edmund against a neaby tree.
It was now dark and the three had been walking all day - only stopping when absolutely necessary, and Susan was now satisfied that they'd gotten far enough away from Cair Paravel.
Lucy slumped down beside her brother, looking absolutely exhausted.
"You alright?" Susan asked her, her voice quiet so as not to wake Edmund.
Lucy nodded slightly. "Yeah." She breathed, giving Susan a small smile. "I don't think Ed is though." She mumbled, glancing at him sadly.
Susan sighed. "He's just tired." She said slowly.
Lucy shook her head. "He's exhuasted Susan." She cried quietly. "Not to mention in a lot of pain."
Susan reached over and gently placed a hand on her little sisters shoulder. "He'll be alright." She reassured her. "Peter will bring back the apple, Orious and the army will defeat the witches followers, and everyone will be fine, okay?"
Lucy swallowed hard. "But - But what if Peter's hurt?" She choked.
Susan sighed sadly and grabbed her arm gently, standing and leading her away from Edmund's hearing distance just incase he woke. "Look Lu." She whispered, still keeping an eye on her brother. "Peter's gonna be fine alright?"
"But how do you know that?" Lucy said, worry in her voice. "The witches followers are in the west!"
"Shh Lu." Susan warned gently, glancing at Edmund who shifted slightly against the tree but remained still after. Sighing, Susan turned back to her sister. "Peter will be fine Lucy." She said. "He won't give up, he wants to save Edmund."
"Yeah, and if he's been hurt and can't walk or something he won't hesitate to send Philip back with the apple." Lucy muttered.
"Why are you so sure Peter's been hurt Lu?" Susan whispered, frowning a little.
Lucy stared at her for a moment. "I-" She paused, sighing. "I've just got a bad feeling." She eventually mumbled.
Susan frowned at her even more before sighing and pulling her into a hug. "This will all turn out fine." She whispered in her ear. "I promise you Lucy, It will be fine."

Peter groaned as he finaly came around, his head pounding. He took a moment to remember what had happened, and when he did he sighed.
He'd passed out after Philip had left, and had been unconciouss all day... seeming as it was now pitch black.
He tried sitting up slightly, but his whole body screamed in protest, causing a soft cry to escape his lips.
Swearing under his breath Peter knew that he had to do something to at least stop the blood pourng from his stomach, otherwise when the others came to help... there'd be no one to help.
using all his strength and biting down hard on his lip so he didn't scream, he reached around and into the bag he still had, bringing out the scarf that Orious had insisted he bring, just incase it got cold.
Holding his breath he managed to wrap it tightly around his stomach, tighing it as tightly as he could, even though it caused agony and he let out another quiet cry. With that done he slumped back against the tree, placing his hand to his ribs, already knowing a good few of them were broken, just adding to the pain of the wound on his stomach and the one on his arm.
It seemed that all he could do now was wait for help to come, but Peter had never exactly been a very patient person.
Holding back a cry he reached back into the bag, bringing out the silver apple and holding it tightly in his shaking hands. He sat and stared at it for ages, wondering how such a small apple could save his brothers life, but the book the faun had showed them all wouldn't lie.
Sighing he clutched the apple tightly to his chest, squeezing his eyes shut. Help would come... and he would get the apple to Edmund.

"Now," Susan said gently. "Let's get back
to Ed and have something to eat."
Lucy wiped away the tears that had made their way down her cheeks before nodding and forcing a smile. "Alright." She whispered.
They had barely even taken one step when there was a loud noise from their left, and looking over they both saw Philip, galloping towards them at top speed.
lucy's mouth dropped open in shock. "Philip!" She called to the horse, catching his attention.
But as he got closer she started getting even more worried. "Susan." She choked. "Where's Peter?"
Susan grabbed her hand a squeezed it tightly, trying to calm her pounding heart. "I - I don't know."
Philip soon reached the two girls and skidded to a halt. "Your majesties!" He said, panick in his voice.
"Shh Philip." Susan said quickly. "Don't wake Ed."
Philip glanced at said boy for a moment before looking back to Susan. "My Queen." He said with a bow. "I have some grave news."
Susan swallowed hard. "Philip." She said slowly. "Where's Peter? Where's our brother?"
"He is terribly injured your majesty." Philip replied. "He told me to leave him and get the apple back to Edmund, but I told him I'd get help instead."
"How badly is he injured?" Susan asked slowly, trying to stay calm.
Philip hesitated. "A knife wound - from a hag - to the stomach, which I hate to admit is way too deep." He explained. "A wolf slashed it's claws across his arm and one threw him against a tree, and I'm pretty sure gave him a few broken bones in the process."
Susan took a deep breath. "How far away did you leave him?" She asked.
"Around thirty miles that way." Philip nodded his head in the direction he'd just come. "He needs serious help... and as soon as possible."
Susan nodded. "Lucy, you got your cordial?" She asked, turning to her sister.
Lucy nodded. "Yeah." She said. "I've got it."
Susan breathed a sigh of relief. "We've got to find him."
"I can carry the three of you." Philip said quickly.
"Are you absolutely sure Philip?" Susan asked.
Philip nodded without any hesitation. "Of course your majesty." He said.
Susan smiled slightly. "Thank you so much." She said, turning to go get Edmund... but she froze the second she did, her eyes going wide.
"Su?" Lucy asked from where she'd already started to climb onto Philip's back. "What's wrong?"
Susan turned sharply back to her sister and the horse, panick in her eyes. "Where's Edmund?!"
