"Lucy hurry!" Susan called as she fell to her knees beside her brothers, nothing but panick in her voice.
Two seconds later Lucy knelt beside her, already opening her cordial.
"Heal Peter Lu." Susan said as calmly as she could, before grabbing Edmund gently by the shoulders and gathering him into her lap. His head fell limply against her shoulder and she had to force back a sob, crying wouldn't help anyone right now.
Peter had since been rolled onto his back with a little help from Orious, and Lucy carefully poured one drop of her cordial into his mouth.
Susan watched as she saw the cut on Peter's arm disappear and his face relax. Five seconds later he let out a small groan and opened his eyes partly, looking beyond confused.
"Peter?" Lucy asked hopefully.
Peter moved his head so that he was looking at Lucy, relieved to find that he wasn't in nearly the amount of pain than he was earlier. "Lucy." He choked. "Oh Lucy am I glad to see you."
Lucy let out a giggle and as soon as Peter had managed to somewhat sit up, she flung her arms around his neck and held on tight.
Peter hid a wince and hugged her back with as much strength as he could, which he hated to admit wasn't much.
"Are you alright?" Lucy asked once she pulled away. "Philip said you were really badly injured."
"I'm fine Lu." Peter replied. "Now that you've used your cordial I'm fine."
"Just a little weak from blood loss and extremely exhausted." Came the unimpressed voice of Susan.
Peter glanced over and gave Susan a roll of his eyes and a small smile, but the smile disappeared when he spotted Edmund.
"Ed?" He choked, shuffling over and gently taking Edmund from Susan, placing him instead on his lap and wrapping his arms tightly around his shoulders.
Edmund made no movement, he just fell limp in Peter's arms, and Peter once again found himself searching for a pulse.
Once he was satisfied that his brother was still alive he turned to Susan, holding up the apple that he surprisingly still had in his hand. "He needs to eat it." He said quickly.
"We need to wait until he wakes up Peter." Susan explained sadly.
Peter swallowed hard and looked down at his brother, tears in his eyes. "How is he here?" He asked after a while, only now noticing Philip, Orious and a couple fauns guarding the area around them.
Susan sighed. "We had to leave the castle because of the witches followers." She told him. "We walked all day before Edmund eventually fell asleep, but then Philip found us." She paused and sighed. "I guess Edmund must of heard that you'd been injured and ran off to help you."
Peter sighed. "Oh Eddy." He mumbled, tangling his fingers in his brothers hair. "How - How's he been?" He asked slowly after a long while of nothing but silence.
Susan hesitated and glanced at Lucy before sighing. "Not good." She said eventually. "The coughing got alot worse not long after you left, and at points he would even start choking. At one point he couldn't breath."
Peter took a deep breath. "He started choking earlier." He whispered. "On - On blood."
Susan slowly nodded. "Yeah." She breathed, tears in her eyes.
Peter instinctively tightened his grip around his brother, placing a light kiss to his forehead. "I can't believe he'd do that." He mumbled. "I can't believe he'd actually come after me."
Susan gave him a small smile. "He loves you Peter." She said. "You know that right?"
Peter nodded. "Course." He choked.
Susan smiled again and placed a hand on Lucy's shoulder. "We should get back to Cair Pete." She said softly.
Peter took a deep breath and nodded. "But as soon as he wakes he's eating the apple." He said quickly.
Susan nodded. "Yeah." He said.
"The Queens can ride on my back and I'm sure Philip would take you and King Edmund." Orious said to Peter as he walked over.
"Thank you Orious." Peter said with a nod and a small smile.
"Give Ed to me a moment whilst you get onto Philip." Susan said gently.
Peter clearly hesitated but in the end passed Edmund to Susan before standing, immediately having to grip a nearby tree to steady himself.
"Peter?" Lucy asked worridley.
Peter took a deep breath and gave her a forced smile. "I'm alright Lu." He reassured her.
After a little help from Orious Peter managed to climb up onto Philip, hiding a wince.
Orious then lifted Edmund up and placed him in front of Peter, him collapsing back against his brother.
Peter took a deep breath and wrapped his arms around Edmund's waist, holding onto him as tightly as he dared.
Looking over he saw Susan and Lucy already on Orious, and thought what a privilege it was for them to ride a centaur, not many people did.
"Are you okay Peter?" Philip asked as they began walking.
Peter smiled down at him, his chin resting gently on the top of Edmund's head. "I'm fine Philip." He said. "And I've got you to thank for that."
"It - It was nothing sir." Philip stammered.
Peter chuckled slightly, glad to have Edmund back in his arms again.
"Peter?" Susan asked after seeing Peter wince. "Are you sure you're alright?"
Peter glanced over at her. "I'm alright Susan." He said quietly. "Just a little tired."
"Did - Did the cordial heal the broken bones?" Lucy asked.
"I'm pretty sure it did yeah." Peter nodded. "My ribs don't hurt when I move so..."
"You cracked your ribs!" Susan exclaimed.
Peter sighed. "The wolf practically threw me into a tree." He said. "So yeah, it was my ribs."
"And your stomach?" Orious questioned, spotting the scarf.
"Oh yeah." Peter said, untieing it to reveal his blood soaked tunic and blood covered stomach, where he could only just make out a faint scar. "The hag followed me to the garden, and tried to kill me."
Susan swallowed hard. "Well, atleast your safe now." She said slowly. "And Edmund soon will be too."
Peter nodded, burying his face into Edmund's hair. "Love you."☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡
