"You alright?" Susan asked her brother when he shifted slightly, taking a deep breath before coughing a few times.
Edmund glanced up at her. "Just - memories." He choked, sighing a little.
Susan bit her lip. "I know you don't like this Ed." She mumbled. "But we won't be here for long."
Edmund didn't say anything, causing both Susan and Lucy to sigh sadly.
"Look." Susan whispered. "Is this cell made of ice?"
Edmund stared at her for a while before shaking his head slowly.
"Do you have shackles around your ankles?" Susan asked, having been told by Edmund that that was what had happened when he was in the witches dungeons.
Edmund looked down at his feet as if to check before shaking his head and looking back up at his older sister.
"And is the witch here?" Susan said, gently running a hand through Edmund's dark hair.
Edmund took a deep breath and shook his head.
"Exactly Ed." Susan said, a sad smile on her face. "It's gonna be fine, alright?"
Edmund nodded again, before coughing slightly.
Susan helped him to sit up when he continued coughing, rubbing a hand up and down his back to try and help.
Lucy stared at her older brother, tears in her eyes as she instantly saw blood coat Edmund's hands, and in all honesty she felt rather sick - but she hid it all and instead placed a comforting hand on Edmund's shoulder.
"Hey." Susan whispered gently when Edmund let out a quiet sob between coughs. "Shh, it's okay, shh."
Lucy swallowed hard when she heard another wolf howl, followed by a few more.
The sound Unfortunately made Edmund panick and his coughing got alot worse, causing Susan to bite her lip. "We should've brought down some water." She muttered, patting Edmund's back and gripping his arm with her other hand. "Okay." She whispered softly, taking deep breaths to try and keep herself calm.
"Probably would've been a good idea." Lucy replied quietly, nodding her head slightly.
Edmund let out another sob between coughs, causing Susan to tighten her grip on his arm. "Just try and breathe Ed, try and calm down." She soothed. "Come on, just try."
She sat and watched until Edmund seemed to somewhat calm down, until his coughing stopped altogether and he collapsed against his sister, taking short, quick breaths.
"There you go." Susan whispered, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
Edmund began crying as he buried his face against Susan's shoulder, rubbing his blood covered hands together, cringing as he did.
"It's okay." Susan mumbled into his ear.
The three looked up though when the cell doors burst open and Orious ran in.
"Orious?" Susan questioned, looking shocked.
"You have to leave your majesties!" Orious said quickly. "There's too many of them, they're going to get into the castle no matter what we do."
Susan frowned. "But they won't think to check down here." She said, feeling Edmund turn his face back into her shoulder.
"They'd check everywhere my Queen." The centaur said. "For your own safety as well as your siblings, I highly advise leaving."
"But Edmund - surely he can't possibly-" But Susan was cut off by her brother.
"I'm fine." He whispered, his voice raspy.
"Ed I don't know." Susan mumbled.
"Please." Edmund choked. "Let's - go."
Susan sighed but in the end nodded her head. "Alright." She agreed. "But where do we go?"
"As far away as possible." Orious answered as Lucy stood. "Just go into the woods and don't stop until you're a safe distance away."
Susan nodded. "Is it morning yet?" She asked, setting about helping Edmund to his feet.
"The sun has just risen your majesty." Orious Replied. "Now come with me, I'll get you out of here."
Susan nodded and - with Lucy's help - they managed to help Edmund through the castle, until Orious stopped outside a door. "This door leads into the gardens which lead out the back of Cair and into the woods." He explained.
"Thank you Orious." Susan said, managing a small smile. "And be careful."
"We will your majesty." The centaur replied. "Good luck." And with that he retreated back through the castle.
"Come on then." Susan mumbled, wrapping her arm tighter around Edmund's waist as Lucy managed to open the door.
The three stepped out into the gardens and made for the gate, all three of them cringing at the sounds they could hear.
Eventually making it Susan swung the gate open and the three began their rather long journey through the woods.☆☆☆
Peter squeezed his eyes shut against the pain for just a moment as Philip galloped at top speed through the woods.
He was in so much pain at the moment that even thinking straight was hard. Reaching across he wrapped his arm tightly around his stomach, letting past a gasp at the pain.
He felt the blood instantly soak the sleeve of his tunic and bit down hard on his tongue so as not to scream.
They'd probably left the garden around six hours ago, seeming as the sun had just risen, and had covered more ground than he could've even hoped for.
At this rate they might even be able to reach Cair by tomorrow afternoon? Maybe even by lunch time - he just hoped that wouldn't be too late.
Sighing to himself - which caused him to flinch - he slowly sat up as straight as he could, not wanting to pass out, which was more likely to happen if he was laying.
He couldn't help the few tears that somehow managed to roll down his cheeks, in all honesty he was in too much pain to care.
Glancing down at the wound he visibly cringed, at the blood more than anything.
He'd hardly even looked back up again when something collided with his chest, sending him flying off of Philip and into a nearby tree.
He hit the trunk with a groan, gasping when he heard an almighty crack come from his ribs. He sunk to the floor, eyes half open, looking dazed, too shocked and in way too much pain now to move.
But his eyes went wide when he saw a wolf approach him - the one that had knocked him off Philip.
There were two more wolves as well, all bearing their teeth at Peter, who's heart had started to pound in his chest.
This was not going to end well....☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡
