It was only a little after five in the afternoon, the apartment sat quiet as Dom brushed her fingers through Kat's dark locks. The tint in her hair clearly needing a touchup as her brown roots began to peek through and drag along the strands. Kat was asleep, her cheek pressed into the pillow as she lay on her stomach, her hand outstretched over Dom's lap. The brunette was still trying to decipher the information that she had just received. Kat loved her, no, she was in love with her. She couldn't understand how someone like herself could hear that phrase over and over again and not believe it until the last moment. Although Dom knew about her own feelings, this new realization brought her into a fit of remorse. Her heart ached.

            What about Ray? Dom wondered. She originally was only thinking about herself and yet now, her mind was racing as her stomach twisted. The brunette was surprised that the man hadn't tried to see what the two of them were up to after hours alone. Dom brushed her fingers against the ones across her waist, slowly lifting Kat's hand to push back towards the woman. The brunette could feel her chest slowly tighten as she forced back tears. She was overwhelmed with emotions, leaning down to place a kiss against Kat's lips, the woman's soft embrace just as intoxicating as before. She slowly crawled out of bed, quickly tracing her own lips with her tongue.

            Dom pulled on some jeans and a t-shirt, creeping out into the hall before trailing the stairs. The afternoon was really intense, her own thoughts trying to decipher what was real and what was in her head. Kat's words scared her, pulling at her chest as her blood began to race. She wanted to hear those words and hoped they were true and now, now she hesitated. She previously stroked the redhead's hair until she fell asleep because her mind wouldn't stop racing. She pulled on her shoes knowing that getting fresh air was the only way to clear her mind.

            Once Dom walked out onto her front porch, her eyes went towards that familiar building where Ray currently sat. His gaze was already towards her, Bernie laying at his side with a ball between his teeth. Once the pup noticed the brunette, he perked up in excitement. Although she had changed from earlier, she was still presentable and as the friend she still believed she still was, she made it towards the man. Dom's stomach began twisting the closer she approached. Ray slid his left foot one step lower than his right one, waiting where he was.

            "Um..." What was she to say to him?

            "She's still pissed about our conversation right?" Ray's eyes studied the brunette, his lips pressed together as Dom tried holding back the truths of what she knew.

            "I don't know."

            "Look, I'm sorry about always making side comments towards you. I've realized, it's been her all along." Ray tilted his head as Bernie quickly ran down the steps for Dom to pet him. She was confused on what the man was speaking about, but chose not to ask for him to elaborate. "Is she going to come home tonight?"

            "I..." Dom felt her stomach drop at the man's concern, her own plight was seen in the man's eyes. "Ray, I don't know."

            "Well make sure you tell her that I'm not leaving until we settle this." His words were said out of fear and love, the truth lay within the shudder that followed his words. But that was his mission all along, to find a solution, and they all knew it. Dom quietly lifted Bernie into her arms, rocking him as the pup licked her cheek. There was a pause between the two, the feeling of dread filling the air.

            "I wanted to go for a walk to clear my head. Do you mind if Bernie goes with me?" Dom smoothed her fingers against the pup's head, holding him tight as Ray watched her.
