Caught In Bliss

Holding Back

     Kat had been focusing on her next steps, not that they were any more solidified than the days prior. But she promised she would take time to refocus her energy as to not lose herself in the hole she had dug. She was a very detailed planner and wanted to make sure that everything she had done wouldn't bring more uncertainty into her life. So with that being said, it was two weeks since she'd touch the brunette in an intimate way and it ate at Dom like no other ache before.

     'What are you two up to?' Kat questioned, placing her hand against the younger woman's lower back. Dom embraced the feeling, her body already warming from the slightest contact.

     'I was just trying to figure out why Dom had been so out of it lately. More than usual if you ask me.' Melanie admitted, gazing between the two.

     'Hey.' The brunette crossed her arms, a pout taking its place on her lips. Kat smiled, her fingers gently moving up and down Dom's lower back. The brunette wish it didn't shake her so much, such a simple action reached all corners of her body.

     'I didn't want to say it because you're one to run from these words but it's like you've been getting laid... hard.' Melanie winked causing a groan out of the smaller woman. Kat smirked, almost finding Melanie's crude take on her friend's aches and pains to be a bit funny. Dom however didn't laugh, her eyes focusing on Kat's as the woman gently pinched her side.

     'I'm not currently sleeping with anyone Mel.' Dom tilted her head. Truthfully wishing that wasn't the case.

     'So you're screwing yourself senseless?' The older woman was genuinely curious as Kat bit down on her bottom lip, attempting not to laugh.

     'Why are you so vulgar?' Dom hit Mel, pushing away from Kat as she turned her back and walked away. Melanie faced the taller woman. Kat could sense the shift in her other friend's mood.

     'What?' The redhead spoke, brushing her hair behind her ear.

     'You haven't noticed this change in Dom? You work closely with her more than anyone.' Mel brought up as Kat studied the woman before shrugging.

     'I don't ask.'

     'You don't ask my ass. She's either having incredible sex or she needs to take better care of herself. And since I don't know anyone who's pants she wants to get into besides yours....'

     'Melanie.' Kat exhaled.

     'I just think we need to see what's up with her. I vote for you.'

     'I'm sure she's fine.'

     'Oh, I thought you'd be more worried that your friend is walking around this place in a daze.'

     'Fine.' Kat rose her hands up slightly. 'I will go and check on her. But you've most likely scared her away with your talks of getting laid.' Kat smirked before turning to follow the direction the smaller woman disappeared. Just out back, the steel trailers seemed to come alive under the trickling rain. Kat closed her hand, creating a fist before pulling back. She wasn't avoiding Dom, but she also hadn't made a decision on telling Ray about their exploration. Dom practically shut down after the redhead allowed everything to happen between them before cutting her off cold turkey. Kat knocked on the steel.

     'Melanie I'm not forgiving you.' Dom shouted, pushing the door to spot the woman she hadn't expected to follow her.

     'Hi.' Kat smiled, her hand brushing against the frame where Dom's fingers hovered.

     'Did Melanie send you? Because I'm not dealing with you either.' The reflective puddles of rain brought out the tint of blue in Dom's hazel eyes.
