Enjoy.
It was six o'clock in the morning and yet again the day began in a downpour. The rain fell from the sky in a wave of uncontrollable patter against the ground. Kat was dressed, her fingers pressed against the windowsill as she gazed out into the dark morning. The feeling of uncertainty washed over her as she recalled the message saying she wouldn't be needed on set today. She trailed into the kitchen, her phone face down against the counter. Ray would be here sometime today and she didn't really want to think about it. He messaged her last night with his flight time and she only responded back with a message saying, 'okay.'
The morning moved slow, the time, even slower. Kat knew she would be spending her time at home and just waiting for that familiar phone call. Her stomach churned, her fingers working against the breakfast she was making. A buzzing noise broke her from her thoughts, her hand swiping her device as she saw Dom's name flashing across the screen.
"Hello?"
"So I guess we don't have to go to set today." The brunette seemed well rested. "I'll be over around eight, I have to make something to eat."
"I'll cook for you, just come over." Kat kept her voice as natural as possible, her tongue brushing along the bottom of her lip as she paced around the kitchen.
"Should I bring some wine? I figure we can have mimosas for breakfast." Dom enjoyed her own idea as an agreement to the plan was made. Kat gathered what she could that would suit the brunette for breakfast and carried on prepping what she needed to. She no longer worried about what Ray would have to say about Dom, he agreed to this and to his knowledge its only been about two weeks. If he wanted to be mad about something, he should be upset with the way her feelings were always a bit skewed towards the woman. She didn't love one more than the other, no. However, she couldn't find herself living without the other, not after she's had both of them to call her own.
Once she set the plates out, carrying the vegan crepes and chopped up fruit to the table, a rattling pattern of knocks came to the door. Kat quickly made her way towards the living room, pushing her jacket which fell to the floor the previous day over towards the sofa. She turned the knob, finding Dom smiling up at her with trickles of rain running down her cheek.
"You came over without an umbrella?" Kat stepped to the side as the brunette walked in, rubbing the water into her skin as she shrugged.
"You only live across the way." Dom reminded her, raising the wine bottle into the air before they both trailed into the kitchen. The table was set up off to the side, orange juice sitting in glasses while the food centered the piece.
"So this morning we can do whatever you want." Kat pulled the two chairs away from the table, as Dom faced her.
"I just want to be with you." The brunette assured her, mixing their mimosas before taking a seat. Kat followed, sitting next to her as she watched Dom smile into the first bite of her crepe. Neither spoke for a while, enjoying their breakfast as Kat studied the small purse dangling at the brunette's waist. She was curious as to what was in it since she didn't often carry such things with her when she wasn't too far from her home.
"I'm sorry I've been a bit out of it lately." The taller woman spoke, her fork splitting her whip cream.
"Don't be." Dom rose her index finger against her lip, wiping the small trace of strawberry that fell against her skin. "You have a lot going on." The brunette tilted her head before taking a sip of her drink. "We have a lot going on."
