Time had flown by and Kat was now back in Toronto. It took her and Ray a few months of living with her parents before they could move back into their apartment, but they were here. They were ready to pick up where they had left off. Ray was hosting a house warming party and all of their friends were invited. It was noon when the first few guests had arrived and Kat was watching her friends intensely. She couldn't believe that she was doing this, she was gazing over heads just to see that one person. Melanie had strolled over with her boys.

"There she is!." The older woman smiled up at her friend as her boys began to hug at Kat's legs.

"Melanie, I've missed you." Their greetings were casual and small, hospitable and short. Ray was setting the table with food before she went over to help him. They set down options for everyone, keeping vegan and vegetarian things away from the meats. Just as Kat turned to wash her hands, her fingers running under the water, she saw Dom's smile from just a few feet away.

The brunette gave a soft grin, her eyes just watching her friend as Kat quickly dried her fingers off and walked over. The two embraced, a warm hug sending jolts through both of them as Kat pressed her chin against the brunette's forehead.

"Hi to you too." Dom giggled, pulling back just as Kat found herself looking down at the woman's lips. She shook her head, nervously pushing her fingers through her hair. "Hey."

"I uh, I didn't know if you wanted another house warming gift after the one I gave you last time..."

"No its okay..."

"So I brought wine." The brunette rose the bottle, her smile bighting as Kat slid her fingers over the soft ones gripping the bottle's neck.

"I love you." Kat pouted, a small roll of the eyes leaving her friend as Dom lifted her hands up, pushing against Kat's cheeks to make her smile.

"The party has just started."

"And I'm grateful you knew I'd need wine." The taller woman pulled away, quickly popping the cork as Dom grabbed glasses. The two filled the cups to the middle before they lingered in one another's presence. Neither had known just how long they were in the kitchen chatting, their conversation blocking out all other noise. Dom was just thankful that her friend was once again a few hours away, that smile which she loved so much was just a few hours away. They spoke about Montreal and other places as the smaller woman's head began to turn fuzzy. She could still make out Kat's gentle eyes and her never ending smile.

"I didn't know how to greet you earlier." Dom babbled, her gaze falling onto her empty whine glass. "I thought about..." she rose her gaze before covering her face shyly with her hands. "I'm drunk." She giggled to herself as Kat brushed her hand against the brunette's wrists, slowly pulling her fingers down as they were already sitting shoulder to shoulder at the Island counter.

"How did you want to greet me?" Kat wasn't drunk, but the buzz was there. It was surprising that the two were left alone for so long. Dom playfully rolled her eyes, pulling herself from the woman's grip and standing. The taller woman doing the same, wondering if she'd have to catch her friend mid step.

"I uh. I think I need to splash some water on my face." Dom giggled as Kat took her side.

"The bathroom is down the hall."

"Come with me?" Dom questioned, not giving the woman much of a choice. It was a rollercoaster of emotions that flooded through Kat that last afternoon as she followed in toe of her friend. The smaller brunette released her and pushed her way into the bathroom. Ray had called Kat just a few seconds later, finding her in the hall.
