The flight to Toronto was packed, several people leaving Calgary for holiday and yet there was Kat on her way to discuss some in your face facts. The redhead sat sunken against her chair with headphones in her ears, eyes closed, and too many thoughts to handle. She didn't know what to expect when she landed back in the city and at the current moment, she didn't want to think about it. But she did let her mind wander towards the brunette she had just left behind. There was something about the way leaving Dom pinched a nerve in her. But the gut wrenching feeling dwelling deep within still lead her back to that day at Melanie's.Kat studied the ring on her finger, shifting the band and diamond back and forth as her stomach leapt. The redhead would be lying if she didn't admit to herself that she still thought about Ray. It had hardly been a week since the two left things the way they had and Kat, deep down in her gut, still had feelings. She knew that. He knew that. Dom knows that. As the music drifted out from Kat's headphones, she tried to clear her mind. Her breaths becoming less frequent and more relaxed. The redhead had found herself drifting off to sleep, her thoughts finally calming down.
Back in Calgary however, Dom paced the set of the homestead, her teeth biting down against her bottom lip as she moved around. Melanie watched the woman for a moment, her brow furrowed in curiosity. Tim had noticed the heightened nerves in the smaller woman, pacing over to question if everything was okay just before his character was called to film outside. Dom stopped, her eyes finding Melanie's.
"You have got to stop all that pacing baby girl." The older woman stated, raising her brow.
"Yeah, sorry."
"Don't be. You've got a lot on your mind."
"I'm worried." Dom admitted, pacing over towards Melanie who sat on the steps leading up to the second floor.
"Kat loves you." Her friend pointed out. "As much as you know I don't want to help her remind you. She does."
"I know, it's not that."
"It's Ray?" Mel wondered.
"There's just no way, no matter what the two of them are going through, there's no way he's going to just let her go. Not that easily, not like that." The stir in the smaller woman's belly began to make her feel anxious. "I trust Kat, but he's still..." Dom bit her bottom lip, turning away from the older woman just as Melanie grabbed her wrist, gently pulling her down to sit on the step below her. Mel wrapped her arms around Dom's shoulders, placing her chin against the smaller woman's skin before kissing her cheek.
"You really need to shut off that brain of yours."
"These are legitimate worries."
"I know, but let's just practice our breathing, hum?" Melanie took in a deep breath, rocking the smaller woman before breathing out. "Think about the ocean and the waves."
"Am I a bad person for not wanting them to talk?"
"Talking is good though."
"But what if they want to work things out?"
"They?" Melanie pulled back. "You think Kat wants to?"
"I know they still love each other, and love is supposed to work out. But, I also feel as if I'm a horrible person for wanting things to work out in my favor." Dom groaned, covering her face as the brunette above her sighed.
