Once again, Enjoy.
Ray paced back and forth in his wife's apartment, taking note of the time as he clutched his notepad in his hand. He shuffled from one end of the room to the next, his mind wandering and carrying thoughts which held no validation. If he was going to stay sane until this evening, he would have to relax. He halted his steps, raising his notepad up just enough to glance over the words once more. Kat was always a feisty one when it came to being told what to do. He didn't want to control her, he didn't want to keep her from being happy. But as her husband, he shouldn't have to sacrifice his happiness for hers. He began to grumble under his breath, the kitchen clock ticking past twelve thirty as he circled the island counter.
"I want us to start over." The man spoke aloud to himself. "I want you to remember all the reasons you fell in love with me." There was a deep sigh which escaped the man, his brow furrowing before he paused and tossed his list onto the granite counter. "Why did it have to be her?" He complained to no one. "I said anyone but her." His finger traced the smooth counter surface. "We both knew you and I weren't prepared for this." Ray had went on and on with himself until the front door opened. He stood where he was, his fingers digging against the granite as Bernie came flying through the house.
"Ray?" Kat called out to him, her voice calm and normal.
"I'm in the kitchen." He informed, just as Bernie peeked his head around the corner, a small bark of reorganization greeting him before the pup was off again. Ray smiled up at the flash of dark brown hair, its red tint fading.
"Sorry I took so long." Kat brought up.
"Honey, I finished my list." Ray waved his hand towards the pages in front of him, a nod leaving his wife.
"Thanks for doing this."
"I didn't have a choice." The man firmly grumbled as Kat quietly nodded. She was still trying to calm herself from moments ago at the brunette's home across the way. But seeing her husband's current mood, instantly brought her back to her reality.
"Dom's here. She figured we should get this over with now instead of waiting until this evening." The redhead pushed her hands into her leather jacket, her eyes studying her husband as he turned to glance at the cabinets behind him. Kat stood confused, watching him move towards the cupboard, pulling out three glasses before heading towards the fridge. As confused as she was, Kat stood watching Ray until he dug a bottle of wine from the fridge and waved it towards the other room.
"After you." He spoke up.
His wife was silent, giving him a onceover before she trailed into the living room. Dom had taken the love seat with Bernie cuddling up close to her as her fingers stayed on her own note paper. Kat stood near the coffee table until Ray entered the room, his eyes shifting towards the smaller woman who had smiled up at him.
"Hey." Dom slightly rose her hand, her fingers gently wiggling before she found her skin brushing against fur.
"Hi." Through tight teeth, Ray set down the glasses in his hands, greeted Dom and placed the wine bottle onto the table. He sat across from the woman on the sofa as Kat pondered on who she should sit with. Instead of choosing, and to keep everything leveled between all of them, she dragged the foot stool near the middle of the space between the two, taking place in front of the coffee table.
"I see you have your list." Dom spoke up, smoothing hers out against her leg.
"I shouldn't even have to make one." The man groaned, just as Kat shot him a look. The redhead quietly began to pour the wine into each glass, making sure everyone just had enough before she gripped the neck of the bottle.
