Guys, I am back and everything is fine. I took a little time off to just relax and get back into the groove of everything. So much to do, so little time, you know? I'm busy as of late but, I want to finish this story as you guys have been here with me since January. Gotta get this done. So after rewriting this a crazy amount of times, enjoy. Sorry for the delay. Being human and such.

Melanie stood in Dom's apartment, eyes hazed and throat dry. She had been standing over a boiling kettle for a few minutes as Dom, with a soft pout, placed her chin against the cool granite counter. It was a little after six in the morning and the two would have to go on set to work. The younger brunette was exhausted from her own thoughts running through her head that she found comfort in Melanie's.

"How'd you sleep?" The older woman questioned, her fingers brushing through her fly away stands of hair.

"Okay I suppose." Dom sighed, tilting head before standing. "So, what's for breakfast?"

"Tea for you, coffee for me."

            "Sound like an unfulfilling breakfast."

"It's all I need for early mornings." The older woman smirked, pulling the kettle away from the stove. Dom had been deep in thought, her mind trying to play over the few encounters she had with Kat that didn't result in the older woman walking away from her. With a heavy breath, the brunette studied the fruit bowl on the counter.

"So, how are things going on your end? You holding up okay?"

"Yeah." Dom pondered on telling the older woman about the leftovers she had dropped off a few night's prior. She didn't want the older woman to judge her and fall into her motherly role of giving her advice. "I gave Kat the food from the other day."

            "How'd she like it?"

"I don't know." The brunette shrugged, her soft hazel gaze falling against the counter. "I didn't stay to find out. She looked a mess."

"On a scale from one to ten with ten being the worst, how was she?"

"A seven I guess." Dom's brow furrowed as Melanie turned to place the warm mug into her friend's palms.

"She didn't ask you to stay?"

"She did." Dom nodded, her smirk faint. "But I couldn't. It's not as if I..."

            "If you what?"

"I don't know. On one hand I know we'll both respect the space I'm asking for, and that we both need. But on the other, sometimes I just want to say, screw it."

"You're holding strong and you're doing well. Just focus on yourself right now."

"I'm trying." Dom finally sat up in her chair, taking a sip from her mug before breathing in slowly. "It's only been a few days but at the same time, it feels like we haven't been together in forever."

"Together how?" Melanie rose her brow.

            "Platonically."

"There's nothing platonic about you two." The older woman fixed her cup of coffee, happily smiling into the cup as she sipped it. "I've got the whole world in my hands."

"Do you think she's working on things?" Dom was curious as to what was really going on in Kat's head for these past few days. The redhead had been doing her best to give the younger woman space while still trying to keep things professional on set. The dynamic they now found themselves in was an unfamiliar one.
