I've retyped the beginning of this chapter so many times I almost screamed. I've been typing on my iPad as of late and when I switch to my phone it hasn't been saving what I've previously edited. Then, it wouldn't save the right parts when I switched between devices. But I pushed through, haha. Enjoy.

Dom couldn't pinpoint why she was nervous, let alone why going out with Kat tonight felt....different. The brunette paced her living room, her bare feet brushing against the rug in the center of the floor as she awaited the redhead's return. Their dinner date was full of laughter and shared glances. Dom could still practically feel the warmth which encased her lower belly, her fingers twiddling around one another as her front door opened.

"So I couldn't decide on red or white wine." Kat smirked, stepping inside before closing the door. She had been wearing jeans and a white blouse, her hair braided at the top to keep the short strands from falling in her way that evening. "I brought both."

"I can see that." Dom had paused her step, gazing softly at the taller woman as she made her way into the dining room. Kat had planned on staying for another hour or two before heading home for the night. Dom however had other plans roaming through her mind that made her heart flutter. The brunette had followed Kat into the kitchen, watching her as she searched for wine glasses in the cabinets. The entire evening had a sort of shy first date feel to it which carried over from dinner. The two women had causally spoke about work without bringing up too much of the personal things that mainly Kat was trying to avoid discussing.

Dom pressed her stomach against the island counter, her hands falling against the granite as she opened her mouth to speak. Kat twirled around, standing tall as she held two glasses in the air. The redhead was excited, her eyes sparkling with triumph as the brunette across from her gently lowered her head.

"Found them." Kat's chocolate brown eyes brought a yearning to the smaller woman, chipping at her resolve.

"I'm glad you chose to go out with me tonight." Dom studied the redhead, her nerves getting the best of her for some reason as the blush of her cheeks caught Kat's attention.

"Dommie. Little do you know, I can't say 'no' to you. And I think we both needed a night out." Kat placed the glasses onto the island counter, standing across from the brunette before she tilted her head to study the woman. "What is it?" Kat's honey like whisper sent a surge of excitement through the smaller woman.

"I just wanted to know if you're okay." Dom shoved her yearnings down for a moment as the redhead rose her brow.

"Uh, yes. I'm good....are you?" Kat gave a playful squint, her eyes narrowing as Dom's nose crinkled.

"Wine." The brunette grabbed her glass, turning to leave out of the room as Kat lowly chuckled and followed behind.

"You didn't answer my question."

"Is it mandatory?" Dom wondered.

"Are you not okay?"

"I'm....something." Dom grabbed the red wine, her slender fingers working over the golden film sealed over the cap as Kat did her best not to fall into her own thoughts. She could sense Dom hinting at her all night about what she wanted, Kat was no fool at reading her these days either. But she promised she was going to finalize her divorce and make sure everything was stable enough to deal with on all sides before she would allow herself to happily fall back into the brunette's arms, not a care in the world would follow. Dom removed the film, her fingers going over the cork a few times before Kat brushed against her side.

"I was thinking after this season is done filming in a few months, maybe we could take that trip I mentioned." Kat slid her fingers over the soft ones gripping the bottle. She plucked it from the smaller woman's hands before turning it away from them to pop open.
