Clarke couldn’t move once she read the texts

Clarke couldn’t move once she read the texts. Lexa had seen the last text because there weren’t no new messages when Clarke unlocked her phone. It meant that Lexa hadn’t answered yet because she wasn’t sure yet what to reply? If she should say yes or no? It drove Clarke mad when she started to think that Lexa was actually considering to call the woman who hurted her this much. She laid the phone back and got up from her lounger, putting back her clothes on over her bikini. “What are you going to do?” Octavia asked once she noticed the blonde’s movements. “I wanted to explore the city more. It’s getting too hot here.”
“You know that water over there? Most people get in it to cool off. You should try it.” Raven said and Luna snorted. “Not really in the mood to swim. I rather just see some things.”
“All by yourself?” Octavia asked and Clarke got her stuff and started to walk away already. “I’ll be fine.” She said and she walked to the city, not waiting for a response of the rest. Clarke could feel her body get more and more tensed, the more she thought about it. And it frustrated her even more while she thought of why it affected her this much. She wanted relief of this tension and before she realised what she was doing, she was walking to a store and searched for some cigarettes. “Can I have a package of those?” Clarke asked to the cashier while she pointed at a shelf full with different brands of cigarettes. The cashier laid it on the counter and Clarke paid but before she could grab it from the counter, Luna had taken it from her already. “Hey what the hell do you think you’re doing?!” Clarke said while she tried to grab the package out of Luna’s hands but Luna didn’t let that happen. “I should ask you. Didn’t you quit?” Luna asked with raised eyebrow and Clarke got even more mad than she already was. “That’s none of your business.”
“It is my business since you’re my friend.”
“Oh God Luna. You don’t need to pretend you like me all of the sudden.” Clarke said while she walked passed her to go outside so the cashier couldn’t follow their fight anymore. Luna followed the blonde outside. “What do you mean?” She asked the moment they were outside. “We both know you don’t like me.” Clarke said while she started walking down the street and Luna scoffed. “And what exactly makes you think that?”
“My gut feeling.”
“You know what my gut feeling says, Clarke? That there is something bothering you. So tell me what’s on your mind.” Luna said and Clarke scoffed. “And what exactly makes you think I would talk about it to you while I have my two best friends here with me?”
“Because you chose to wander alone while you know if you asked, at least one of them would have come with you.” Luna said and Clarke didn’t respond for a moment but just walked further. “I chose to wander alone, yes. That doesn’t involve you.”
“I saw you look into Lexa’s phone earlier.” Luna said and Clarke froze immediately. “What made you this mad? Made you so upset that you were about to give up months of dedication of not smoking. If something in Lexa’s phone made you this upset, I should be worried. And I have the right to know what’s going on so I can protect her if it’s needed.” Luna said but Clarke didn’t answer yet. “Let’s make a deal. We go for a drink while you tell me what you saw and I give you back your cigarettes.” Luna said while she showed the package again. Clarke nodded and they walked to a pub and sat down around the bar. “Two whiskeys please.” Luna asked to the bartender and Clarke’s eyes widened. “You look like you need one.” Luna answered when she noticed the look and not much later they got their drinks. “So tell me. What was so interesting in my cousin’s phone?” Luna asked while Clarke was playing with the glass. Clarke took a sip from her whiskey first. The liquor burning down her throat. “Costia.” Clarke said without taking her eyes off the glass. Luna looked confused at Clarke and waited for her to say more. “They text again and I’m scared that Lexa is going to fall for it again.”
“And that’s a bad thing, why?” Luna asked and Clarke looked shocked at her. “Because she played with her feelings!”
“Costia isn’t as bad as you think so what about it is really bothering you?” Luna asked and Clarke scoffed while taking a sip again. “You think it’s going to be better now? Costia broke up with Lexa for a reason. She didn’t feel it anymore. How long is it going to take for Costia to break Lexa’s heart again the same way. Lexa can’t handle that twice.”
“Are you sure that’s the only thing bothering? I mean you’re pissed off, frustrated. And why? Because you’re scared Lexa is going to get hurt again? Shouldn’t you be scared then instead of frustrated?” Luna asked but Clarke didn’t answer. “You see, Clarke. I’m not blind. I can see the way you look at my cousin and I can see the way she looks at you too.” Luna continued and Clarke looked confused at her. “What are you talking about?”
“You can’t run away from who you are.” Luna said and Clarke took the last sip of her whiskey before turning fully to Luna again. “I think we’re done here. I told you what bothered me so can I have my cigarettes now?” Clarke asked and Luna called the bartender again. “Can I have a glass of water please?” She asked and Clarke sighed because she started to get impatient. Once Luna got the glass of water she took the package of cigarettes and dropped it into the glass. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?! Do you have any idea how much those things cost?!” Clarke shouted while she quickly fished the package out of the glass, hoping some cigarettes would’ve survived but all of them were soaked. “Yes I do know and it’s ridiculous for something that kills you. You didn’t think I was actually going to give you perfectly intact cigarettes right? I said I would give you your cigarettes and you got them. I just let the wet part out of it. Now stop acting like a fool and don’t buy new cigarettes. You really think that’s going to help anything? That it’s going to give you another feeling? You can’t run away from it.” Luna said and without a word Clarke left Luna alone at the pub.
