Both couldn’t get enough of the kiss. They still couldn’t believe this was all happening and they were actually kissing each other. Finally after all that time and aching for this feeling, it’s finally happening. The rain cooled off their heated skin and when Lexa felt Clarke shudder in her arms she pulled back and looked into the blonde’s eyes. “You should go back inside. I don’t want you to get sick.” Lexa said Clarke smiled at her. “It’s not my fault you chose to run to me and confess your love that one day in months that it rains here.” Clarke said with a grin. “Shut up.” Lexa said with a smile and she pulled Clarke in a kiss again. They smiled against their lips. “I want you to come inside with me. Meet my mom and stay over tonight.” Clarke said and Lexa didn’t know what to say. “I can’t do that, Clarke. I hate to ruin this moment but I’m still the reason her husband died.” Lexa said and she looked down at the ground out of guilt. Clarke lifted her chin up to force her to look in her eyes. “It’s never been your fault. My mom was the one who convinced me of that when I found out. We all know it isn’t your fault because it isn’t. Please come inside with me. Now I have you I don’t want to let go off you.” Clarke said and Lexa looked at her for some seconds. “Okay.” She said then and Clarke’s smile became wider. She kissed Lexa’s cheek and took her hand to walk back inside. Lexa was nervous of walking in there and meeting Clarke’s mom, especially since their history. Clarke noticed Lexa’s distress and pinched her hand to comfort her. Abby and Kane sat down around the table, picking their food while they focussed their gazes on the hallway where they expected Clarke and the girl to come out and they did, shuddering and soaked. Lexa’s heart was beating fast in her chest but when she saw Abby’s smile, she calmed down. Abby immediately got off her chair and walked closer to Lexa. The older woman extended her hand and Lexa shook it. “I’m Abby. Nice to meet you.” Abby said with a kind smile and Lexa could see where Clarke got her kind side from. “I’m Lexa.” Lexa said and she hesitated of saying her last name. She didn’t know if Abby knew the name of the family that took her husband so she didn’t say it. The man came of his chair too and introduced himself too to Lexa. “Look at you two. You guys are soaking. You should change some clothes first. I don’t want you two to get sick. I’ll make you guys some soup or something to warm up.” Abby said and Clarke dragged Lexa up the stairs to the bathroom. Clarke noticed Lexa seemed to be lost in her thoughts. “Are you okay?” Clarke asked. “She doesn’t know I’m that girl right? The daughter. You said she knew it wasn’t my fault but she doesn’t know that’s me.”
“No she doesn’t. But her opinion is not going to change.”
“You don’t know that. Yours changed to at first.”
“And that was stupid of me. If you want we can tell her. If that makes you more comfortable.” Clarke said and Lexa nodded. “I think it would.” Lexa said and Clarke nodded before she placed a kiss on Lexa’s cheek. “I’ll get her now. So we can talk about it.” Clarke said and she shortly went downstairs again to bring her mother with her. “What do you need me for? If it’s to tell you two are together, I already figured that out.” Abby said and Clarke shook her head. “It’s not about that. We need to tell you something.” Clarke said and she looked at Lexa to see if she wanted to take over. “I- uhm.” Lexa started and she had to swallow the lump down her throat. “I’m Lexa Woods. My parents died in a car accident. A car accident that caused not only their death. My dad caused the reason of your husband’s death. I’m so sorry.” Lexa said and tears started to roll down her cheeks. When she felt arms around her, she thought Clarke was hugging her but this felt different. This wasn’t Clarke’s embrace. Abby was hugging her. “I’m sorry that you lost your parents.” Abby said and Lexa looked up at her with teary eyes. “It was an accident and not caused by you. You’re a victim of this accident too.” Abby said while she cupped Lexa’s cheeks and Lexa nodded. Abby kissed Lexa’s forehead and shortly brushed Clarke’s cheek before going downstairs again. “Come here. We can cuddle before we change.” Clarke said and she dragged Lexa on top of her while she sat down on the bed.Clarke gave Lexa some clothes of her own and they both dried off before putting them on. After they were done, they went downstairs again and Abby gave them a bowl of soup. “Thank you.” Lexa said and she looked in Abby’s eyes to make clear she didn’t only mean for this soup but for earlier too. Abby got what she meant because she winked at the brunette. After dinner and getting to know each other more, Clarke and Lexa said they would do the dishes while Abby and Kane could pick a movie to watch and set it up. “Is it weird to see her with someone else?” Lexa asked while she looked how Kane and Abby teased each other. “I’m just happy to see her happy. Of course when I look at them I can imagine how it would be like if my dad was still alive but it’s not like that. We can’t hold on to the past and this is what it is now. Or you can hold on to the past and make yourself unhappy it changed or you can look at what’s right in front of you. And what I can see now is that my mom is happy with a man that looks like a good guy. And I have you by my side now so I’m happy. Happy for her and happy for us.” Clarke said and she leaned in to kiss Lexa. “Those plates won’t clean themselves so you better hurry up. U can save that for in your room later. We are planning to watch a movie here.” Abby said and Lexa turned red and Clarke chuckled. They finished the dishes and took place on the couch too.
