I wake up with the sound of my door bursting open, making me groan while hiding my face in my pillow. "Evelyn, wake up! For God's sake, your interview is today!" Louis shouts while opening up the window.
I sit up slowly and glance at Louis while he glares at me, holding my baby in his arms. "Why are you carrying Hazel around?" I mumble, smiling lightly when she starts giggling.
"Because when she woke up you didn't hear her, sleepy head." He says, playfully rolling his eyes as I get up slowly, taking Hazel in my arms and lightly kissing her small nose, which makes her giggle loudly.
I glance at Louis and send him a fake smile while slowly, but very slowly, walking to the kitchen, just to piss him off. I put Hazel on her high chair and put her bib loosely around her neck.
I heat up the milk that was on the fridge and give it to her as her small hands reach for it. I start making my breakfast and a sigh escapes my lips. "I'm not sure if I want to work there, Louis." I mumble as he approaches me, a frown taking over his features.
"Have you seen the name of the company?" I ask while sitting down next to Hazel and Louis sits in front of me, a concerned look on his features. "Yes okay, I understand that you're scared because the company is named Styles, but it's a fashion company! I think it's normal!"
I narrow my eyes at him, taking a spoon full of cereals to my mouth. "You remember how narcissistic he is." I simply state and he sighs.
"Don't be so forward love, besides, Niall works there too! He'll be a great friend to be with! He'll keep you distracted." He says, a small smile on his lips as I shrug.
"Come on Evelyn, just try for a little bit and try to not think too much about it." Louis pleads, pressing his lips while awaiting for my answer.
I sigh, looking over at Hazel who just finished drinking her milk with a big grin. "I'll try."
He smiles excitedly, while I put my bowl inside the sink. "Great! Now go get ready, young lady."
I laugh quietly while making my way to my room, choosing one of the nicest outfits I could get and proceeding to go to the bathroom.
I take a quick shower and dress up as fast as possible, I take that chance to brush my teeth and my hair.
I run downstairs and see Louis clapping his hands with Hazel. "Louis, I'm going to go now!" I say while grabbing my jacket and he quickly appears in front of me, holding Hazel close to his hip.
He grabs Hazel's cheeks so that her mouth is slightly open. "You can do this mommy! I'm very proud of you!" He exclaims with a small voice, making me laugh.
I kiss her face several times, hearing her laugh loudly while doing so. I chuckle when I pull away and turn to Louis. "Don't forget, there are five bottles of milk for her in the fridge, you have to heat them up for thirty seconds because she doesn't like it very cold nor very hot, and she can't be on her pyjamas all day, choose something comfortable for her, her pacifiers are in the second drawer in the ki-"
"Evelyn, I know all of that." He chuckles, making me playfully roll my eyes.
"Okay, have a good day!" I say while leaving, locking the door behind me.
I go to my car and drive off, my heart beating faster as I reach the tall building, a certain heaviness in my chest as I park.
I can't believe that I'm doing this... it feels so wrong, I have a feeling that this isn't going to end well. Not my interview, I'm sure that'll go just fine, but I have a weird feeling in the back of my head, that makes me just want to drive back home and cuddle Hazel while watching movies.
Stepping out of the car, I breath in, my nervousness growing with each step I take.
I step inside the building, everything was white except the chairs and the big black desk that was in the middle of the room. The floor was made of marble and there was a huge hallway that lead to four elevators and there were two doors next to them.
I slowly walk to the secretary, a red haired girl sitting behind it and she looks up at me with curious eyes. "Erm, I'm here for an interview." I say awkwardly and she widens her eyes.
"To be the assistant, right?" She asks and I nod with a small smile. She types something in her computer before looking back at me. "You'll have to wait a few minutes, they're having a meeting at the moment but it won't take long." She informs me and I nod.
I sit down in one of the grey chairs and cross my legs, grabbing my phone and texting Louis.
Me: I already hate this.
I put my phone back on my purse and cross my arms. One of the doors near the elevators open, and out of there comes Niall, he beams at me as I get up and hug him tightly. "Hi there, Louis texted me that you were here!" He exclaims while looking down at me with a huge smile.
"How's Hazel?" He asks with a contagious smile. My smile gets bigger at the mention of her name.
"She's been great! She's been making a lot of baby sounds." I say with a laugh and he chuckles.
"Five months right?" He asks and I nod frantically, my smile never fading as we keep talking about what I've been doing.
"Miss, the meeting is over." The girl says, glancing at me with a smile. Niall shakes his head.
"I'll show her the way, don't you worry Megan." Niall says, draping his arm over my shoulders and the girl, Megan, nods.
We make our way to the elevator, chatting quietly amongst each other. We stop in front of a big, dark wood door. "Well, good luck Evelyn." He says and I smile at him and wave when he goes back to the elevator.
I lightly knock on the door and the door swings back, and some familiar green eyes glare at me. "You're two minutes la-Evelyn?"
He frowns, his hand tightly grasping the door handle as I widen my eyes. "I fucking knew it" I whisper to myself, sighing in frustration.
"You're my new assistant?" He asks with a smirk and I clench my jaw. Fucking prick.
"Only if I get the job" I mutter through gritted teeth, faking a smile. His smirk gets bigger, as he steps aside so I can enter his office.
I sit down in the chair in front of his massive desk, and he sits down in the big chair behind it, his eyes looking attentively at me. "How have you been?" He asks, looking at his computer, seeming to not care.
"Good." I simply reply, crossing my arms in anger. He nods, turning his gaze back to me with a fake smile spread on his lips.
I slam my professional resume on his fancy desk, crossing my arms once again right after. He clears his throat, straightening his back while carefully taking it in his hands.
His eyes roam it briefly before putting it down. "I am well aware that you'd be great for this job and also you were the only one interested."
"I wonder why." I mumble sarcastically, rolling my eyes. He clears his throat once again, pretending that he didn't hear me.
"See you tomorrow, Evelyn." He extends his hand to shake mine, but I swing my purse over my shoulder and walk out of his office, making sure to slam the door.
I was fuming, I couldn't help it, this man cheated on me when we were dating, and when he left my life I discovered that I was pregnant. I bet he's still seeing that chick.
Asshat.
