Sleep Deprived and First Real Smile: Rome and Pick

THREE MONTHS

Pick smiled as he watched London and Takoda sleep on top of a sleeping Rome on the couch. It had been a stressful, fun, interesting, happy two months since they brought London and Takoda home. Having twin is not bad but it can be stressful but it also could be very rewarding. He yawned before reaching down and carefully picking up London. Though he thought the sight of his babies sleeping on top of the love of his life, he would rather sleep with the love of his life.

He took London up to her room she shared with Takoda and put her in her crib. He went back downstairs and picked up Takoda and did the same thing. After the babies were safe and sound in their cribs he made sure he check to see if the baby monitor was on before heading back downstairs to get Rome. Rome woke up a bit when he picked him up.

"Where's the babies?" He mumbled.

"They are in their cribs" Pick said heading back upstairs. Rome snuggled into Pick's neck before falling back to sleep. Pick made it to their room and pulled back the covers on the bed before putting Rome on it. He covered him up before getting undressed down to his briefs before getting in on the other side. He pulled Rome closer to him so Rome back was touching Pick's chest before falling asleep. Early the next morning, Pick woke up to one of the twins crying.

"I will pay you fifty bucks to go get that baby." Rome grumbled. Pick chuckled before getting out of bed. He left the room and headed into the twins room. It was Takoda who was crying and he just woke up his sister.

"Little man, we talked about this, you got to stop waking up your sister." Pick picked up London and put her in a swing and buckled her up before turning it on. He then went over to Takoda and picked him up. He was crying rather loud and you would think that Pick was killing him.

"Hey, you are not dying, you are going to wake up Papa and then we are both in trouble."

"Too late" Pick froze and cursed Takoda's loud lungs. He turned to see Rome standing in the door looking tired.

"Now look what you have done." Pick said to Takoda. Rome signed before turning and heading downstairs, Pick guessed to make Takoda and London a bottle. Pick went over to the changing table and set Takoda down before undoing his onesie. He grabbed a diaper and a few wipes from the shelf under the changing table. He changed his diaper as Rome came back in with the bottles. Rome handed one of the bottles to Pick before taking Takoda from him so he could feed him.

Pick set the bottle down on the changing table before going over to London who was whimpering for food. He picked her up and took her over to the changing table and quickly changed her diaper before picking her back up and giving her the bottle. The twins were a bit of a handful but Rome and Pick wouldn't have it any other way. The twins were heartbreakers when it came to giving out smiles. They apparently had made a silent agreement that they wouldn't smile at him. They were sneaky little twins, they would laugh at something when Pick wasn't in the room which would piss him off.

Pick sighed as he finished feeding London before grabbing two burp cloths, he put one on Rome's shoulder then the other on his shoulder before moving London on to his shoulder with the burp cloth before burping London. These twins were going to kill him but he had a plan to change that. The twins love Star Wars specifically Chewbacca, they would talk excitedly whenever he is on screen, Pick had no idea why but it was going to help him get the twins to smile at him. He was very jealous that the twins only smile at Rome.Pick brought London off his shoulder when she gave him a good burp. He cradled her before smiling down at her.

"Daddy is going to get you and your brother to smile at me today." Pick said smiling down at her.

"You say that every day and every day you don't get them to smile." Rome said finishing burping Takoda.

"I have a secret weapon" Pick said.

"Just give up and admit that they love me more." Rome teased.

"Never, by the end of the day they will love Daddy more than Papa."

"Can't wait to find out that your plan failed again." Rome said.

A little while later, Pick closed the door to his bathroom in his room and locked the door. He didn't want Rome walking in and ruin his plan. He grabbed the furry suit off the hanger that was hanging on the door and unzipped it. A few days ago he was talking to a coworker at work whose cousin makes authentic costumes. A plan formed in his head where he would see if his coworker's cousin would make him an authentic Chewbacca costume and send it to his house to suprise the twins.

He asked his coworker if he would ask his cousin would make him a Chewbacca costume for his twins who were fans. His coworker said that he would ask but he was pretty sure his cousin would ask for a fee. Pick told him that it didn't matter about the cost, all that matters is that it looked authentic and came with accessories which it did. It cost a few hundred dollars but it would be worth it to see his kids smile at him.

The package came two days ago and Pick had hid it in the back of his closet and planned to do it the night before but he was exhausted so he planned it today. He got the suit on and looked at it, it looked amazing and worth every penny. It came with the actual voice box that was in the mask. The mask was also amazing, the whole thing looked so realistic. Taking a deep breath and blowing it out before putting it on before. The costume didn't come with the crossbow which he was thankful for since the twins were too little.

He left the bathroom and went in search of Rome and the twins. He found them in the living room. Rome was watching the twins on the floor doing tummy time. He opened his mouth and a Chewbacca's roar came out making Rome jump and the twins smile. Pick's heart soared at the look on the twins face. It must be the roar they like since it is a bit funny.

"What the-" Rome said looking up at him. Pick ignored him and went over to the twins. He picked up one and then the other before doing another roar. The twins laughed and slowly reached up to grab his the fur under his chin.

"Where did you get the suit?" Rome asked.

"The cousin of a friend at work did it for me." Pick said. "Also I told you I would make them love me more."

"Shut up" Rome laughed.
