Dealing With The Haters: Win and Team

FIVE YEARS OLD

Life couldn't be better for Team and Win. A years ago after multiple tries they finally found out they were pregnant with a little boy. Maxwell was born on a cold night on the tenth of December. He was the small but healthy and was Luna's favorite thing. She was totally excited when they told her that they were having a baby. She wanted a little brother and she flipped out in a good way when she found out that she was going to be a big sister to a little brother.

Win and Team felt totally complete and they had even talk about maybe having another when the second pregnancy went so well without any of the drama they had the first time. They had been talking about it only for a few months and it was Win this time who was hesitant. The doctor said that the more they do a C-section the higher the risk of complications. The risks were that Team could have heavy bleeding during the procedure that would lead to blood transfusion, there could be injuries to the bladder or bowel and many more that scared the crap out of Win. He put his foot down and said that  he wasn't putting Team at risk.

Win told him that they could get a surrogate or they could adopt. Team yelled at him saying he doesn't want a surrogate carrying his child when he could do it. Win threw back that he won't loss him and that he can't have another baby. After storming out of their bedroom Team went into the bathroom and locked the door. He needed some time to think. He was devastated that he was being told that he shouldn't get pregnant again.

He knew that it was the right thing to do not having another baby but that didn't mean he wasn't sad about it. The two option he had left were surrogacy or adoption. He immediately took surrogacy off the table cause it would just piss him off so the only thing left was adoption. Those kids needed a home and they had the resources to take a kid in so why not. After that Team came out of the bathroom and told Win they should look into adoption.

While all that was going on Luna was growing up even more and had become more and more like Win but with a little bit of Team thrown in there, though she look liked both her parents more and more every day. She also just started kindergarten a few months ago. When she first started she was so happy to be there and had made some interesting friends but for about a week she has seemed unhappy and not like herself. They tried to get her to tell them what is wrong but she would just shrug and say nothing. So today after leaving Maxwell with his uncles Pharm and Dean, Team decided that after he picked up Luna from school he was going to talk to Mrs.Winnie about what was going on.

Team pulled into the parking lot of the school and shut off the car before he got out. He headed inside and notice Luna was sitting on a chair that was against the wall looking down at her feet. There is something wrong with her and he was going to figure it out.

"Hey sweetie" Team said kneeling in front of her.

"Can we go home now?" She asked.

"In a minute, can you stay right here while I talk to your teacher about something?" He said. Luna just nodded and looked down again. Team put his finger under her chin and made her look up.

"Smile for me" he said. Luna smiled but it didn't reach her eyes. Team sighed and kissed her forehead before he told her he would be right back. He stood and went over to Mrs. Winnie who was talking to another parent. He waited till that parent left before clearing his throat to get her attention. She turned to face him and smiled at him.

"Hello Team" she said.

"Hello Mrs. Winnie, could we talk in private for a minute?" He asked.

"Sure" she said before leading him to her classroom. "What can I do for you?"

"Luna hasn't been herself for almost a week and I'm just wondering if something happened." He said. He noticed a slight twitch in her face before she smiled what seemed to Team like a fake smile.
