Dealing With The Haters: Phun and Noh

FIVE YEARS OLD

Noh watched and smiled as he watched Klaus hanging out with Faith, one of his female employee. They were at his music shop, Phun had an emergency meeting on a freaking Saturday so Klaus joined Noh while he was at work. Things were different from two years ago. Pete and Earn adopted a baby girl named China, she was adorable and made Phun and Noh start talking about maybe adopting a child.

They put it off when Phun's dad got sick. He was perfect fine one day and the next he was in the hospital with pneumonia. Phun spent most of his time there which was okay for his father cause at least he got to spend some time with Klaus. He says he got better because of Klaus's cards that said get better Grandpa.

Klaus was growing every day, looking more and more like Phun and has more of his personality which pissed Noh off but then realized it was probably for the best. Klaus was also a ladies man, not by choice but cause he was just so cute.

Life was definitely interesting with Klaus in it. Klaus laughed when Faith tickled him, Noh could listen to that laugh all day long. The bell signaling the front door opening rang making Noh turn to greet them. It was three teenage boys.

"Welcome to Noh's-" he said but was interrupted by eggs and flour hitting him.

"That's what you get you freak" They yelled before fleeing like cowards.

"Papa!!" Klaus said worriedly. He would have ran over but Faith stopped him.

"Faith watch the front" he said before heading into the back. This wasn't the first time he had things thrown at him and called a freak. He had been called that rude gay word and had food and objects thrown at him. He had called the police the first time but since Noh didn't get a good look at the person nothing happened. So that's why they now had cameras everywhere. Noh wasn't upset about getting hit with flour and eggs but that his son witnessed it, this was the first time Klaus has witnessed it.

He got into the office and locked the door before he broke down as he unbuttoned his shirt. His son listened to some assholes calling him a freak and throwing food at him.

"Papa?" Klaus said through the door. Noh sobered up and wiped tears from his face.

"What's up buddy" he said after unlocking the door and opening it. Klaus looked at him for a second before tearing up and then throwing his arms around Noh's waist.

"Why did they do that?" He asked. Noh removed Klaus's arms from his waist before pulling him into the room and closing the door for privacy. He pulled him to a chair and sat him down before kneeling in front of him.

"Sometimes people don't understand that a guy loving another guy or a girl loving another girl is okay, sometimes those people think it's wrong so they pick on those who are LGBTQ just because they think it's okay." He said.

"They pick on you cause you like Daddy?"

"Yes, Daddy and I have been dealing with this since we first got together way before you were ever born."

"People are not nice"

"Some people are but there are lots of good people who support us and those people are the only thing that matters, people who do things on purpose to hurt someone else is not worth remembering."

"I don't think you are a freak Papa."

"Thanks son, now let's find Papa a shirt and get you home since Daddy should be home soon."

"Okay" he said. They found him an extra shirt before heading back out to the front.

"You okay boss?" Faith asked.

"Yeah, we're going to head home, make sure you give the tape to the police." He said.

"Will do boss" she said.

"Bye Faith"

"Bye Klaus" she waved. They left and headed home where Phun was waiting for them.

"Hey bud, why don't you go play in your room for a bit while I talk to your Dad." Noh said.

"Okay" he said before leaving.

"What's going on?" Phun said when Noh pulled him into a hug. Noh cried while Phun tried to get him to tell him what happened.

"Some boys threw floor and eggs at Papa." Klaus said from the stairs.

"Go play and I will take care of Papa." Phun said. Klaus sighed before heading back upstairs.

"He...heard...them...call...me...a freak" He said through his tears. Phun held him close secretly pissed that his son witnessed such hatred. After letting Noh finish crying, they sat on the couch and Noh told him the full story.

"I'm happy that you got those cameras installed." Phun said. "Have you talked to Klaus about it?"

"He asked questions and I answered them as best as I could." Noh said.

"Good"

"I wish that I could take our son to work without this happening." Noh said as laid down so his head was on Phun's lap. Phun played with his hair and took a deep breath.

"Maybe some day you can."
