TEN YEARS OLD
"Max, you better have that room finished when I come back up here." Team said passing Maxwell's room with the laundry basket. They had been in the new house for less then five days and already five year old Maxwell's room was a mess.
"Okay Papa" Maxwell said.
"Luna, please turn your music down." He said as he passed her room.
"It's not even that loud." She said making Team stop in his tracks then back up to stand in her doorway.
"Excuse me?" He said.
"Nothing, I said nothing" she quickly said.
"That's what I thought now turn it down then grab your dirty clothes and bring them to the laundry room."
"Fine" she huffed.
"Lose the attitude" he said before continuing to walk.
"Stormy, have you finished your homework?" He asked poking his head into six year old Stormy.
"Almost" she said.
"Okay" he said before heading downstairs. They had adopted Stormy two years ago, they actually wanted to adopt a baby but one look at Stormy's cute face in a picture made them change their minds. She was their daughter and they were so excited to bring her home. Luna and Max were thrilled to have a new sister and when four year old Stormy came home they took to her immediately.
Besides that nothing has really changed except Luna who had recently became more argumentative and had an attitude problem. Win and Team were both confused on where the new attitude was coming. Last week, it was she was sad about something and would only tell them that she wasn't being bullied and her teachers were really nice she just didn't want to talk.
This week it was anger and frustration plus the attitude. They talked to her teachers and they said she was doing well and her grade were fantastic. She had tons of friends including her best friend Jason. He had never met Jason but had heard he was the same age as Luna. Team froze as he was putting laundry in the washer. Maybe it had to do with him? Did Luna like him and she just didn't know how to express it?
"You okay Papa?" Luna asked as she dropped her laundry on the pile he was currently putting in the washer. He looked at her and wondered if she had a crush on this Jason boy.
"Yeah I'm fine" he said. "Hey, I was think that maybe you should invite Jason and your friends over to hang tomorrow. It would be nice to meet them." Team said. Luna looked down but not quick enough that Team didn't see the sad look cross her face.
"Jason and I are not friends anymore." She said before running off.
"Luna!!" He said dropping the clothes he was holding to follow her. As he entered the living room to get to the stairs he noticed Win standing by the couch confused.
"What's going on with her?"
"Come with me I think I know what's going on." He said heading for the stairs. Win followed Team upstairs and to Luna's room. They opened the door and Team ducked when a pillow came flying towards him. It hit Win's chest before falling on the ground.
"GET OUT!!"
"Excuse me young lady but you do not throw things and you do not yell at your parents." Win said. Luna pulled the cover up over her head as they walked in and closed the door.
"What's going on with you and Jason?" Team asked. "What happened that you are no longer friends?"
"ItoldhimIlikelikehim" she said so fast they didn't catch it. Team pulled the covers off her head before taking a seat next to her on the bed while Win lean against a wall.
"What did you say?" Team asked.
"I told him I like like him." She said before turning away from them.
"Oh hell no!!" Win said but quickly shut it down when Team glared at him.
"So you told him you like him and he didn't say he likes you too?" He said making Luna nodded.
"He said we can't be friends anymore." She said.
"Oh sweetheart" Team said before gathering her into his arms.
"Some boys are jerks and it might be that you have to go through some jerk to find a good guy." Team said.
"But you aren't allowed to date till you are older, I said the same to Maxwell and Stormy."
"You are not help." Team said.
"What I said is true?" He said making Luna giggle. It was good to hear her laugh.
