FIVE YEARS OLD

Rome didn't know how things turned from a good day to one he will never forget in the worst way....

That afternoon...

Rome woke up feeling like today was going to be a good day. He looked over at his husband and smiled. It was times like these that Rome loved, the times where he watched his husband play with their five year old twins. As the kids got older things changed especially the way they look. London looked more like Rome while Takoda looked like Pick.

Takoda has really come out of his shell more because of the friends he has made. Rome and Pick loved the new Takoda, he opened up more, talked more, liked doing things without his parents. He was no outgoing, opinionated, social butterfly like his sister but he was getting better at it.

Things were going great for the Cherinsuk family...until that morning when they recieved a letter from Pick's family, Pick's mother wanted to meet the twins. After what happened when Rome was kidnapped, Pick's father escape then was found when the twins were almost five, Pick's family didn't dare contact them fearing his father's wrath. Now that he's behind bars they wanted to be in their grandkids life.

Pick and Rome talked and talked about it for a least a few hours whole the twins were at their friends houses. They thought she wasn't supportive of their relationship and wanted nothing to do with the twin. She explained that it was only his father that wasn't supportive of their relationship and wanted nothing to do with the twins. She had no say in anything and if she tried she would be beaten and thrown in the basement of their home which didn't have any windows and only one door which was always locked.

Pick told Rome that when he was a kid his mother was a loving and caring woman but when got into his teens she became distant and often let his father teach and discipline him. If what his mother said in the letter is true it would explain why she became so distant. It didn't make it right, she should have taken him and run away.

"I think we should meet her and see what she wants." Rome said.

"This woman let my dad beat me within an inch of my life and you want me to meet her. I won't put myself or our kids through that." Pick said.

"What if she escaped and wants to start fresh?" Rome asked.

"Why are you pushing this?" Pick asked. "My father kidnapped and tortured you, you should want nothing to do with my family."

"She wasn't involved in that." Rome said.

"I don't care, we are not going and that's finally." Pick said.

Pick sighed in annoyance as Rome drove to the restaurant that they were meeting his mother at. He didn't want to do this but Rome said he was going and taking the twin and that if he wanted to come he could. He wasn't going to let his family go into uncertain waters without him. They made it to the restaurant and parked the car in the parking lot.

Pick helped Takoda out of his booster seat while Rome helped London out of hers. They took one of their little hands and they walked inside. His mother was sitting in her booth looking down at her cup of coffee. She looked up and saw them and smiled before standing. They walked over to her and stopped in front of her.

"Papa, who is that?" London asked.

"This is Daddy's mother, your grandmother, Lillian Cherinsuk, Papa said.

"We have two grandmothers?" Takoda said.

"Yes" Pick said keeping his eye on his mother. She looked like hell with the bags under her eyes.
