The Hunt for the Power Stones

Chapter 5- Ruby Strength Stone

Malik opened the book of stones and the first page, it stated the first stone will be the Ruby stone of strength. The book clearly displayed the location of the stone's first point of origin. Malik had no clue as to where the stones were but he had hoped his stupid brother had hidden it in the same places he found them. The Ruby stone was in the Volcano of Peninciulus.

Nathaniel and James both looked at Malik in shock, James asked "Sir, are you certain about this book". Malik responded with "I have never doubted my mentor and I will certainly, not start now, This is all we have to go on, the villagers said that Servic headed east and according to this map, the volcano is in the same direction. If you have any better ideas, I'm all ears." They remained silent and shook their heads in defiance. Malik had left the responsibility to the Kingdoms advisor to remain the peace among the people of Columbus. 

Malik knew he had a long, treacherous journey ahead of him. He and his companions had a final meal fit for a king and began their journey after a Good luck and farewell by the people. Malik, James, and Nathaniel all got the strongest, fastest, bravest horses they could get and started heading east towards Volcano Peninciulus. He was nervous and scared although he did not want to admit to it. He knew his brother was the fighter in the family, He had no magic, No experience in a real fight other than the training from his father. Malik was glad that he was not alone and had his 2 best friends with him.

What Malik didn't know was that each stone was being guarded and in possession by a different member of "The Hidden", DAMOS was the current holder of the Ruby stone, he was known for his temper and his hate for royalty. He was stationed at the base of the volcano without fear of eruption as it had never been triggered in history. 

Malik was a days ride from the volcano and decided to camp in a nearby cave for the night as the day to come would be an excruciatingly heated day. The next morning after suiting up the 3 men rode up a mountain that gave them a view they had never seen before, They saw miles and miles of beautiful rain forests, fields, mountains and in the corner of their eye they saw what they were looking for, The Volcano. A couple of hours went by when all of a sudden a sound of rustling came through some nearby bushes, James Pulled out his bow and aimed an arrow at the sound and out jumped Jeffrey, Malik's partner his one and only dog. Malik shouted "WEAPONS DOWN" He jumped off his horse handing the lead to Nathaniel and running to his dog, "What are you doing here boy". Hugging his exited friend, "He must have been following us this whole time," Jeffrey is the Kingdom's best tracking dog used in many missions to find lost people and livestock.Jeffrey had a beautiful grey pristine coat with a heart of gold and fierce aggression to those who hurt his friends. Malik picked him up and rested him on his horse and continued on his journey, They were close to arriving at the volcano when they heard loud sounds of crushing rocks. The men grabbed their weapons, tied up the horses near some grass and began slowly walking up the face of the volcano, Once they reached the top, they looked down to see what was making that sound and what they saw was simply incredible.
