Chapter 65 - The Whispering Woods Part 2

Our heroes saw the Whispering Woods and the place looked instantly creepy, the massive dark trees were looming over the forest floor causing it to be dark, even though it was day, there was a fog, smoke looking mist as they slowly went in, it smelt of wood and an earthy scent. Our heroes were on high alert, they had their weapons ready and slowly followed James as he knew the trail to get in and out. There was a good reason why these woods were called the whispering woods, the trees were carved out in unique shapes, some trees were twisted some were carved and the wind would cause a "WOOOOOH" sound. Our heroes were almost halfway through when they heard rustling and sticks breaking, Malik raised his hand and made a fist which is a sign to stop and silence, slowly from the trees and bushes walked out a family of boars, they all looked extremely odd as they were green with antlers like a moose, "What in the world are they?" Whispered Nathaniel, "Zorka's mages used to perform magic-infused experiments on animals, and when they turned out wrong, they sent them to this forest." Said Malik. After 3 minutes of standing still, the boars had crossed their path and our heroes continued moving forward.

James was at the front, Nathaniel was at the Back, They did not want to stop and rest in this forest it was far too dangerous, what they didn't know was that they were being closely followed by Cerberus the Guardian of the Whispering Woods. There was the word that Cerberus, the 3 headed dog was the Guard Dog to the underworld, Now he protects the whispering woods, He is extremely powerful and this creature was slowly following our heroes, Malik could see light beams through the trees and knew they were close, "Let's go", said James, they all picked up the pace, at that moment Cerberus must of thought they were escaping and began running also, When the beast got close he leaped up extremely high and landed right in front of our heroes with a loud THUMP, James's horse was so freaked out by the surprise from almost getting squashed he raised his front legs causing James to fall off, the horse turns around and begins running away, "I'll get him" yelled Nathaniel. Malik pulled out his sword and Gabriel was holding 2 fireballs on each hand, James yelled "NOOO, lower your weapons" James quickly pulled out his whistle and blew on it as hard as he could, Cerberus began growling and lowered their heads to get a better look and intimidate them, which was definitely working. He was as big as an elephant and had 1 mouth for each hero, James knew they had to remain calm, Cerberus took a step forward, he growled and barked loudly "PIFF" appeared the ELF, "WOAH, WOAH, What's going on here," "HEY REMEMBER ME" "OH YES JAMES, Why have you returned?... and you brought guests" Cerberus settled down after seeing the ELF, "Me and my friends are just passing through, we mean no harm and are not hunting", At that moment Nathaniel returned after using the grappling hook rope on the horse to lasso it, " Who is this?" asked the ELF, Cerberus began Growling again, "Calm down" said the ELF to his friend, "He's with us, we need to get to Lake Mareotis to capture a very important Gem". "OOOH, I love gems," said the ELF, "Yeah, so we need to get there," said James, "Will you friend let us through?" asked Malik politely, "Of course and your name is?" "Your prince is a bit impatient don't you think?" whispered the ELF to James, "Nah, he's right we do have to go" replied James, "Very well then," said the ELF, he quickly Jumped onto Cerberus and tapped him twice and said "Let's go", Cerberus gave our heroes a dirty look and turned around slowly, as he turned, Morpheus flies in and with a claw made of pure stone, he punches Cerberus right on one of his heads, Causing the Massive beast to fly backward smashing right onto a tree. "MORPHEUS" yelled Malik, Morpheus turns around to face our 4 heroes and "ROAAARRSS" the whole woods hears his roars, Morpheus flaps his wings and flies up into the air, He looks up and thunder crashes and BOOM, A lightning strikes from above but our heroes have known the signs of the lightning bolt and were ready for that attack, They pulled out their shields and aimed up, But like on the Mountain Gabriel instinctively put up a forcefield around them and no one was hurt. Morpheus sees the forcefield and goes furious, his eyes glowed red and began flying down towards our heroes at Max Speed.
