Chapter 68 - King vs King

King Valentino had finally made it to Zorka, looking like a complete mess. The village people saw him and threw rotten fruit and vegetables as he was being pulled by the soldiers. "YOU'RE GOING TO DIE", "WORTHLESS KING", "DOWN TO COLUMBUS" they all yelled. The King kept his head down and tried to ignore all the hate. He thought about what he would do to Zorka once he got out and that gave him a sense of peace. He hoped his son Malik was okay, they reached the Dungeons where it was Dark and smelt like Death. He was relieved he was away from the crowd and now awaited whatever came next.

Amelia and Prometheus had also arrived at the same time as the King of Columbus.

Prometheus turned into his bird form but not before turning Amelia into her bird form also. The 2 birds began flying all over the kingdom. Amelia knew the area very well and decided it was best to take their time to strike at the best time. The King of Zorka was called King Jeremiah, he was a ruthless King, but he was not always like this, ever since his son died in the whispering woods, he hated Columbus and wanted nothing but revenge. He had received the best news he had ever received, the capture of King Valentino. The Knight had just ran into the ceremonial hall to receive a badge of honor. King Jeremiah had just left his quarters and walked out with a big smile on his face. "Where are the soldiers that captured the King," said King Jeremiah to his advisor. "They are waiting for you at the hall sir" replied the advisor. "The King had continued following the path to the hall to see 6 soldiers in line waiting. "Where is the 7th one", "He not yet returned but I have been told by the soldiers he will be on his way shortly". "Ahh wonderful, and our new prisoner?" "In the dungeon cells sir". The King arrived on the stage and began yelling for all to hear, "TODAY IS A GREAT DAY, WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH THESE YEARS, BUT AS A KINGDOM UNITED AND STRONG, WE CAN DEFEAT ANYTHING, AND NOW WE HAVE CAPTURED THE KING OF COLUMBUS, LONG LIVE ZORKA" The whole Kingdom chanted LONG LIVE ZORKA, LONG LIVE ZORKA. Prometheus and Amelia were just watching from above, they were waiting to strike the vault, but Amelia tells Prometheus that King Valentino is here and that we must rescue him. Prometheus agrees and now that the king was gone the vault was mildly guarded but easily penetrable by a bird. The vault was behind 2 separate gates, Amelia flew right past the 2 guards through the bars. The Second gate was also guarded by 2 guards and the bars were a lot thinner, the guards spotted the bird and tried catching it but missed. Amelia had managed to get into the vault swiftly. The guards did not want the bird causing a mess and opened the gates.

Amelia cannot revert back to her human form unless Prometheus lays his claw on her. She quickly looked around and easily spotted her book, it had a glowing yellow spine, she flew and stick her claws into the book and lift off, she began pulling the book in mid-air and fly up above them out of their reach, then Amelia does the unthinkable, she throws the book at the Door, causing it to shut and lock the 2 Guards in the vault. Amelia quickly swoops down and picks up the book and flies through the bars. The first guards at the first gate were aware of the bird and had tried to block the doors but Amelia pulled hard and flew up above the guard until she reached the exit successfully with her spellbook.

Prometheus had flown around the kingdom searching for the Dungeon cells. He was struggling as there were too many people everywhere. "THE TIME HAS COME, DO WE KILL THE KING OR USE HIM AS BAIT" yelled King Jeremiah, "KILL, KILL, KILL, KILL. Was all that was chanted. "THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN, BRING OUT THE PRISONER"
