Chapter 20 - Dangers of Curiosity

Following the meal, they decided it was best to continue moving forward but this time towards that loud explosion. The horses were struggling climbing up steep hills and mountains, so they decided it was for the best to continue on foot. They gave enough rope to let the horses walk around and eat grass. They encountered a huge problem once they reached the top, there was good news and bad news. The good news was that they could easily spot the abandoned castle and lake Mareotis, the bad news was that, to get off this mountain they had to get off a giant cliff halfway down. There were  2 choices you jump off into a river below or grappling hook your way down. "we should be safe about this, lets use our hooks" said Malik, They began sliding down but underestimated how long the rope is. They were about 40 feet from the water " we gotta jump said James, they all got unhooked and "Splash" they began swimming to shore, Leaving the 3 hooks behind.

They began walking in the direction of the castle when " BOOM "another loud sound, "something must be going on there "40 minutes later they had finally arrived at Lake Mareotis. It was an absolutely beautiful lake, if they didn't know any better they would of jumped in and swam the whole way, luckily with the help of the mage's notes, they did know better.   

James had secretly kept a long leg bone from their last meal. " Lets test out the strength of the water " James slowly dipped the bone halfway down and carefully out of the water to not make it splash. Two minutes later the bone begins to fizz up violently. James dropped the bone and backed up " We cannot by any means touch the water " said Malik " So how the hell are we supposed to get across, there are no boats anywhere " said Nathaniel. " We sure as hell aren't making a raft, too much risk" " Maybe we can use exactly what the mage said, Distraction " said James. "What are you talking about man," said Nathaniel " Why should we have to go to her, why don't we make her come to us," said James. " I mean, how are you even going to get her to come to us," said Nathaniel. " I could shoot arrows tipped in the water or fire up and over the castle walls". While Malik was listening he was watching the castle, he had seen giant rock pillars and structures hover over the air and land loudly on the outer walls of the castle. " She's raising her defenses, she already has an impossible to cross lake, what's the point " Malik whispered to himself.  " WAIT, SERVIC MUST OF TOLD HER SHE'S NEXT " he yelled, but it was too late, James had fired a water tipped arrow up and into the castle...
