Chapter 64 - The Whispering Woods Part 1

Our heroes had a very strange nights rest, Malik had given each a task and a solution to find, All throughout the night they heard the sounds of creatures and animals, But eventually they fell asleep, and now it was time to get up and start their day. They all had some food and water and began discussing plans around a small fire that Gabriel had summoned. "How do you feel Gabriel, physically and Magically," said Malik, "As ready as I'll ever be" he replied. "There must be a way through here safely," said Malik. "I know how to survive these whispering woods" stated James, I mean I did it before" he added, " Okay tell us, " said Nathaniel, Gabriel was brewing some tea over the fire while James continued. "As I was saying before, Myself and the 6 other knights were still hunting and exploring, we killed many animals, except me. I felt it was unnecessary to be killing for fun. Eventually, we ran into a creature so fierce we had no choice but to fight, I stood at the back when I noticed a tiny man with long point ears jumping from tree to tree like a monkey, I quickly looked back down to see my fellow knights being slaughtered, Jefferson was the last of them I saw alive I ran and hid by a tree with my steed, later in life I read that the creature that killed the knights was Cerberus, the giant dog with 3 heads, I saw him kill everyone and take away Jefferson by the leg back into the forest". "I still don't understand why you did not tell the King this story" replied Malik. "I'll tell you why now, so after that traumatizing event had happened, I got on my horse and ran, I knew if I stayed there, I would die, as the knights did, but then suddenly a giant tree appears Infront of my path, the horse got surprised and raised its front legs and I fell backward. As I was on the ground the little man with pointed ears stood over me and said "Good evening young knight" , I yelled and pulled out my bow and aimed an arrow right at him, he quickly said " Woah, relax " I said "Who are you" he replied with " I am the guardian's right-hand man, well more like right paw guy" What do you mean" I asked, he then said the Guardian was the beast that ate your friends, "he was angry that you guys came in and started shooting and killing innocent animals for pleasure, he has 3 heads and 3 noses and could smell and sense exactly where all the dead animals were, I told him not to hurt you because I saw you didn't hurt anyone". I did not even know what to think, I got up and he said " Let's get you out of here but you have to promise me something, you cannot tell anyone what really happened here, If word gets out your knight friends will come storming in and killing everything in sight. It is best kept a mystery to prevent people from coming in. Here take this" he handed me a special whistle, "Blow this whenever you need my help, but you have to be around or close to the whispering woods ". James leaned forwards and pulled out a necklace with the whistle around his neck. "This is the one" "Wow, I don't even know what to say" replied Malik, "We should get going", the creatures are more active throughout the night,

Malik knew he had the teleportation amulet but it recently got repaired and there are way too may variables and possibilities to go wrong, he knows he can teleport to Lake Mareotis but Malik is afraid of overworking that Magic and refuses to abuse it, he would much rather use it if there is no other choice, because as we've seen before, All Magic has a price. So, they decided to pack up and continue moving forward towards Lake Mareotis but first came the struggle of getting off this cliff. "Gabriel did you find a way for us to get off," said Malik, " I think so, I have been reading on some of my notes I had from when my mother used the Amulet and she teleports multiple items at the same time like equipment but I don't know if it will work with people, but its worth a shot." Gabriel read from his little notepad and began chanting. Our heroes all got on their horses and were holding hands hoping this would work, they were all connected as 1, 30 seconds had gone by and Gabriel finished Chanting, "Poof" They all teleported to the bottom of the cliff, The Amulet began sparking a little bit and Malik knew he had to be careful from overusing t but was grateful to have such a relic.
